Hello:
Today I was with my fried Fidel Rama, he built in aluminium, he show me his Bronco in 1/4 scale. The model is almos ready, a little details and few more.
He is thinking now in a jet, full aluminium, of course.
What do you think over this ?
In short I will put photos of the choice for this project, at the moment is TOP SECRET.

A10!!!!!!
There was a guy in Germany who did a 40% all metal scale model of the DeHavilland Beaver.
Amazing work. Built as the full scale including wing jigs etc.

I think it would be possible to do a jet this way but the scale would have to be huge!

Ive been tryin to get my budy Carlos in FL to do me a metal jet for 2 years now, since he is the all metal plane guru here in the US.

Hello friends:
You speak of Carlos Rangl.
Yes, I know him. In the world there are a few crazy metal mans, Carlos, Fidel, another man in Germany and few more.
Regards and Merry Christmas from Spain.

He sure is! I'd love to get an F-86 / F-100

Hello:
It is obvious that are more heavy that balsa or fiberglass construction, but is really more scale and is another way to built and think.
My friend Fidel coment to me that not there are any problem with radio interference, he fly in 35Mhz with the antenna into a plastic tube inside the fuselage and no problem, I don´t know what happen in 2.4 but I think if you put the antennas out the fuselage you no must to have problems, is lilke to have a carbon fiber fuselage. You can put a external whip too, right ?
You only see the photos for understand the Art of the construction.

Metal structure is just an other way to build model planes !
Most of time, a real metal structure builded plane is way lighter than the same sized plane full wood or full fiberglass !
The huge Beaver from Germany is a very light plane for its size. I've seen it fly in France at La Ferté-Alais, and it was just a blast and a pleasure to see such flight qualities !
Please have a look at Paolo Severins planes. Fuselage are welded steel tube and there are most of time 1/2 lighter than same sized in wood, and in the same time way more stiff and rigid !

The problems of metal are difficult for use : need lots of jigs to built, difficult to repair.
But lasr point : it is impossible to be more scale accurate !

Hello!! Thanks for the kind words!!
I would like to kindly and respectfully ask to Rcand, Which bases do you have for your claims ?? On which grounds you claim great aluminum interference??? Have you worked with aluminum before? I am just curious...
I have been building aluminum airplanes for years, way before others are doing the same.. The reason I build a little heavier (not by much though) is to dampen the horrendous vibration levels gassers generate. I HAVE NEVER. NEVER HAVE ANY RADIO ISSUE EITHER!
An aluminum jet not only is feasible, it would be cool, Im just not into jets!
Have wonderful holidays!
