K-36 is a catalyzed primer surfacer. it is fuel proof upon curing, and sands wonderfully filling very minor imperfections. the sanding is the real beauty of the product imho. K-36 seems to be a very stable "substrate" for paints as well. I have not come across anything that did not "stick" well to it.

FWIW I have tried the "low-iso" version (ncp 250) which is a purple-ish gray color. I believe the K-36 still sanded better, and the purple-ish gray color was a bit strange to "see" how smooth my "fill" work was.

I been using automotive RM 700 spray can primer. This primer work very good. It easy to sand and paint stick on very well. Ofcourse K-36 is better. But the problem is cleaning up after each use and some the primer go to waste.
So pray can work fine for me.
Pay $9.00 a can. Which is little more expensive than K-36 count by ounce. But end up cheaper by not wasting primer and safe time.

You can get this from automotive paint store. Look for store that carry RM Diamont paint. I like to use RM Diamont brand over PPG. It spray on much smoothler than PPG.

I've found that as well Tam, the RM is a nicer paint in my opinion, and it's a bit less cost than PPG as well.
