The first time I saw the K-170 on a test-stand putting out more than 36# even more than my Rhino 32#
I was hooked

I really like my 170, I am planning to run 180s in both my twins. The 140/170/180 are all the same diameter so more power for same size mount

Thanks guys! Jason, Wen-Fu from the factory noticed that you have the filter upstream of the pump; it is design to be mounted downstream to prevent air leak from the filter, which had happened before.
Thanks again,
Barry

Just lit my K180g for the first time yesterday....Smooth start with no problems. I am looking forward to flying it. Man I love the new set up. I also flying the k80e and love it.
The only thing I wish we could change is 3 cell lipo instead of Life 9.9v. This is not a Kingtech only deal. Seems like all new kero starts need the extra voltage. There are a lot more and lighter lipos out there that would work. I have been flying lipos for a couple of years and like them.
Maybe in the future.

The life battery was chosen because of its reliability, stable chemistry and high discharge capability. I'm sure a lipo would be just fine as long as you could monitor it for swelling after each flight and remove it anytime it required charging. That said, most turbine airplanes require the batteries to be mounted forward and sometimes are inaccessible.

Sorry Barry, was a quick install at the field and did not have a heater to soften up the 4mm tubing. It is a little tough gettin a little tube over a big nipple
.
Besides, we had confidence that the pump would'nt shell out.

No worries Dale, just glad you Okie boys love KingTech, Jason, I don't think the weight difference is accurate, I believe we are a few insignificant ounces heavier.

Im getting one to play with in a few days thats going into a SM F16, It'll be interesting to compare it side by side with the 180rx. Looking forward to trying it out as everyone seems to love them.

Well its not 12 ounces but it is exactly 9 ounces lighter. The Rhino does have a FOD screen (forgot to remove it) but my point is that the KingTech is substantially lighter when comparing the same class engine with its required valves.
Also included is a picture comparing from Left to Right, 180G, 170G, 140G. The 170G and 180G are the same weight. The 140G is 1oz lighter and a bit shorter as the photo shows. I love these new engines.

hey 757 can you tell me if the 170 is smaller than the 180? I thought they were about the same size but from the picture its looks a little larger in diameter
