His name's Albert. He's over 70 now. He designed all of his planes. He makes everything, including retract parts and oleos...
Believe me, it is even scarier when seen up close. The paint he used was old left over paint from the time he repainted his daughter's room. And that was a while back.
His oleos don't use springs, but rubber from old tires. No two servos are the same inside and most of the stuff is older than me.
His plane blows up in flight once in a while, but he always have a back up airframe. Gear are secured inside with double side tape and hot glue.
Who wants one ?

Jim, we have both witnessed a much much worse install here in Cyprus. Hint, it was also a Mig-29

Compare his smile with one of a pilot flying a $20K Chinese ARF. Tell any difference? Good for him!

Hi Paul. That was a Chinese manufacturing defect of an unknown nature. Never did find out the reason for the way it flew, but it flew great with one elevon up one inch & the other down an inch.
Never mind. I am building another one at the moment. I hope it is better.

The worst was at a jet meet in spain, I think that was back in 2007. His fuselage split open in the air along the seam line, like a pealed banana. Good thing nobody got hurt when it hit the ground.
Eventhough the idea is good, the craftmanship is terrible.

It takes him one week to make a big29, including molding the airframe. And you haven't seen his SIPA 200 and alphajet... both of them flying jokes...

It ain't pretty but I got to give it to him! I can't put an arf together in 1 week Wish I could mold my own airframes and machine all my parts, let alone in a week and that cheap..

Jim, sorry I didn't clarify, it wasn't yours. Another hint, it had 4 or 5 servos to operate the gear

The starter sounded like the rubber grommet was missing and it was literally metal to metal!!! I wonder how much aluminium the engine eats when spooling up? I can't stand the fact that the seams are exposed and split in places ***!?!?!

I'm also seen him painting a new airframe without taking the pain of removing the turbine. On his design, the turbine is exposed in between the two nozzles.
When you guys say this plane has been built with a hammer, you don't know how true this statement is...

Some of us (not me) tried to put one together as they were attracted by the overall cost. None of them (that I know of) has been successfull.
Nothing seems to match (formers to internal skin, upper to lower half fuse...). formers were not even symetrical, like the fuselage.
At the end of the day, they lost 200 bucks. If you really want one, I can ask, he's a really nice guy, but it will cost you way too much in S&H don't you think?

Good for him, this hobby is about putting in what you want to your ability and getting out what you want., not what others want or for others, I admire what he has done, at least he has done it and built it him self. It's called self satisfaction. Well done that man.

Mark, I see your point, but I'm also concerned about our security. Few years ago, we were all affraid of loosing our field, as Albert crashed his handmade self designed Alphajet on the highway nearby, almost hiting a passing car. What he puts inside is a concern for us here, just as how it is built. Look and cosmetics aside, a sound setup is a matter of safety for us and our hobby. Unfortunately, his "creations" are far from sound. But again, he is a really nice guy.
