RE: Hot paint
You can also go into almost any automotive store and buy ceramic heat shield paint for headers. Comes in rattle cans and in quarts. I don't know if it's the exact same stuff as bvm sells but I've been using it without issue for years. You can get it in black too if you prefer.

Well, maybe it's not, but it's sprayable or brushable depending on what you want to do, it's good for more than enough heat than what our jets will produce without major failure of everything. It's readily available almost anywhere, and a spray can of it costs like $8.00 and a quart if you want to brush it is like $24.00.
I'm not saying don't buy the BVM stuff, I'm just saying, for those of us who only need to buy the one item, there are options outside of spending as much in shipping as the item costs and waiting for the mail to deliver it.
Beyond that, with the multitude of different ceramic paints out there for headers, bbq's, etc, I'm sure there is something else that is the same as what BVM is selling. BVM offers convenience for the product and the ability to buy a small amount, but I would be surprised if BVM hired a chemist to create a specific product as opposed to find something that works great and offering it in a one stop shopping atmosphere.
