I got the Cat at 12 noon today. I fired it up for the first time at 6 o'clock. Everything went perfect on the ramp up, the green light came on and I had throttle control. It ran for a minute or so before I realized that the 3 position switch was still in the middle (standby-start) position. I switched it to run and the turbine revved up alittle before shutting down. The display said (auto shut down). Are you supposed to move the 3 position switch to the run position at another time? I started it again and everything ran perfect if I left it in the middle. Cool down and everything else went normally. Help please?

The three position switch is as follows
down: emergency shutdown
Middle: Start / standby
Up: Normal Shutdown
You leave it in the middle for normal operations and flying.
You can also do an emergency shut down by pulling the throttle and throttle trim all the way back.

That makes perfect sense! That explains the slight rpm increase before shut down. That you very much. I probably read that some where in the manual, but things look a little fuzzy after you look at them for so long.
When you are done flying for the day do you empty all of the lines of propane and kero, or just the tanks? Is there anything else I can do to make the next start as easy?
The Jetcats are such awesome engines. I just hooked everything up and it fired smooth the first time every time! Can't wait to start the install!

As for draining the system, I do not drain the kerosene, but sometime dump the propane as a safety precaution. You can also enable automatic dumping of the gas in flight as well.

I sure hope so. It's a little hard to make the wife understand when I just spent the kind of money I have the last couple of days. I probably will though, I don't want to miss it. Can't wait to meet you all too. What day are you guys leaving? Is there a certain day where it will be most busy, thats when I would like to be there.
It's OK to leave the kero in the line with the valve off?

Regarding the kerosene in the tanks.. I usually empty the main tanks just to make the model nice & light for carrying. However, if you do this, then empty only the main tanks, not the UAT (if you are using one).
