Visiting São Jose do Rio Preto - 14 bis r/c model club - Brazil
Hi friends,
Last weekend was father´s day in Brazil and my family decided to gave me a present: A free pass to go away from home for three days! and I suspect it was a present for them too..LOL
Anyway, I drove to S.Jose do Rio Preto, about 800 km away from my home place and had the opportunity to met two RCU members I never met in person before, and we flew a lot (and talked even more) at saturday.. it was a pleasure to meet them and also Luis Tiago too wich is a very talented r/c jet and imac pilot and full size jet pilot too.
This club has a very good infrastructure and long runway.. took some pictures and guess that you may enjoy them.

My weapon of choice for this visit was the Hotcat.. a old and easy flying plane wich still performs well. The weather conditions where unusual saturday, wich was very cold and very windy, in a quite crossed direction. Achilles and Jose, my RCU buds opted for a very reliable airplane of them, the Boomerang.. this plane was shared with three pilots, as they kept the expensive stuff safe in this weather conditions. All the flights went great despite the wind and we all returned home with a lot of less fuel in the cans..

This guys do everything right, even if they are not near any major r/c jet hub in the country.. all they gear is top notch and fly very profissionally and safely.

Well, this saturday wasn´t a major event full of people and even if it was only two jets flying , We had a great time there .. I hope to return flying this place as soon as possible to enjoy the company of this great people and also fly as much as I could .. (even if am a kind of a bad example to this guys, for buying little from BVM or even any well respected modeling company,,LOL) . I was glad to meet Jose, Achilles, Luis Tiago and the people of the 14 bis and also while driving back to my place at sunday, I considered that this would didn´t happened if not by tools like RCU... and as any tool you can use it correctly, or incorrectly like using a hammer to hit others and your own head.
And I would thank to Jose for the invitation to your place..it was a great pleasure to fly and talk with you and the gents there!

p.s. As the traditional Father´s day dinner was postponed to tuesday, the wife and kids loved it.. no queues, not many people in our favorite restaurant and it was even cheaper than in the weekend. It is very likely that I will suggest the same present for next year holyday!

As usual, very bad weather here in Curitiba.. windy, quite cold and the very common deal breaker light rain both saturday and sunday... already missing SJRP! lol

Thanks Tiago, it was a pleasure to meet you and watch your flights! .adn that video of your engine out aerobatics remind me a documentary from a guy called Bob Hoover.. perhaps you already watched it too but I can´t get tired of watching this stuff!
