Nope...it will fit just fine. The Tucano is all fixed...I was just waiting for the new motor. It's the same size gearbox with a P-100 instead of the P-60...I'm using the old exhaust stacks in fact. It's just a tad wider on the back but still plenty of room.
The gearbox has always been the weak point in all of the Turbo Prop engines...no matter who made them. I had 23 hours on my SPT-5 gearbox and have never had a single issue with it at all...the gearbox is absolutely bullet proof.
Hopefully I'll get it in the air in the next few weeks.

That's a good question. Because it's for my Tucano I am diameter limited (nose wheel aircraft) so extra blades and increased pitch are where I am going to look first.
I already have a 3 blade 24/14 Turbo Propeller from Biela. It had wide blades at the root and it bogged both the SPT-5 and Jet Central to the point that it was worthless to run that prop (I fly both motors in two different Tucanos so I get to experiment a lot). I have already been consulting with Gerhard at Aircraft International (The U.S. Biela importer) and he is going to contact the factory in Poland directly about maybe making me a 4 bladed 24/14 prop as well.
Initially, I am going to limit the inflight propeller RPM to 7750 (I do that with the -5 too) and adjust the turbine RPM (dial it down) so on the ground static running, the 24/14 3 blade hits maybe 6300 to 6400 RPM. The -5 spun a 24/12 6050 and the 24/14 5400 RPM static so I figure turning the /14 in the neighborhood of 1000 RPM higher static than the -5 could spin it should provide impressive results while still being able to maintain the scale fly appearance of the aircraft. In flight the propeller unloads about 2000 RPM over static readings (these are "free spooling gearboxes") and there is a limit you must observe before the propeller literally blows itself apart. More so, above around 8000RPM the prop tips start going supersonic and you lose prop efficiency. Lastly, there is no reason to abuse the gearbox by revving the piss out of it (that's my opinion).

I must say I'm jealous..... after seeing the video of the Tucano flying in the Jet World Master, it is clear to me that the SPT-10 is a great choice for the Tucano.
Before buying the SPT-5 I talked with my local Comp-Arf dealer and this was the response that I got from the factory.
"The JetCat SPT10 is too powerful for the Tucano, we clearly would not recommend it"
Clearly they were not right and I regret following their advice..... both for the Tucano and Marchetti.
I must say I'm jealous..... after seeing the video of the Tucano flying in the Jet World Master, it is clear to me that the SPT-10 is a great choice for the Tucano.

probably you haven't heard of Fiala, this is a company in the Czech Republic producing props as well. These props are widely used in Europe, but not very well known here in the US. They are offering a 24x14 or even a 24x16 3-blade prop. You can take a look at their 3-bladed props here: http://www.vrtule-fiala.cz/shop/inde...mart&Itemid=53 They come painted in black/yellow or white/red and are reasonably priced as well.

I have to disagree with your conclusion. The SPT-5 is brain doner perfect for the Tucano and the SF-260. Very scale...controllable etc. Understand the -10, unrestricted in either platform would result with less than satisfying longevity IMO. Imagine putting a 3W-157 into a QQ 102" Yak-54...it would be impressive...right up to the point it ripped itself apart...which would happen quickly.
CARF has liabilitys that it must observe to protect its own interests. If you called BVM and asked them what their thoughts were as to you installing a P-180 in a Bandit ARF you would get the same response. I am preceding with this project with over 300 flights on my and another Tucano. I pretty much know the airplane and which way to proceed, how to adjust the settings to experiment etc to hopefully find a happy compromise with the airframe and to keep it scale in appearance with more umpf when heading uphill. As you well know, there are some who would install the -10 and let it rip full bore...because quite simply...in some cases...you just can't fix stupid and the results would be spectacularly bad more than likely.
The Tucano does also have an incredibly strong motor mount...the SF-260 IMO does not when a turbo prop is installed. I am not knocking it...but it's no where as solid as the Tucano in my opinion. Installing the -10 like the -5 is installed would be a mistake I think. That being said, I am not an engineer so what the heck do I know.
Lastly, I am doing this on my own, without CARF's blessings...so please don't be mad at them...be mad at me...lol.
