Default EV5 ops

My EV5 is installed and working. The only thing I did not care for was the doors opened and gear extended (regardless of transmitter gear switch position) on start up. The failsafe system in my Electra remembers that I shut it down in the up position at the end of the day so when I power up with the Tx in the gear up position the gear stays up.
So with the EV5 typically I would retract everything and then disassemble the model. Then when I bleed off tank pressure the nose gear door open and I have to push them closed for transport. After reassembly and power up I just need to clear the gear before pressurizing the system. Then everything would come down (even with the gear switch in the up position).
The manual says that was normal as the failsafe system is reading a low pressure condition on start up and sending the signal to lock the gear down for landing.
I am trying to figure out the best procedure for the first flight of the day but it seems to be: to clear the gear, turn on the radio, Gear switch down, and as I pressurize the tank everything comes down and locks.

I would also like to try the pulse braking, I have a large Robart tank. The manual is pretty straightforward about setting that up. Any comment?

BTW, this sucker gets hot if you leave power on it for a while while doing other stuff, kinda crazy as I had no air in the tanks and wasn't using it. It is mentioned in the manual. Gotta watch out for that.
