Thanks David, have you had any experience with the Futaba GYA430 or GYA431? They are economical and I have never had an issue with anything that has the Futaba name on it...using Futaba for 25 years
I have no experience of these particular devices. My Futaba gyros were the GYA 352 , a single axis, dual channel unit which worked to perfection on the ailerons of both of my BobCats, as did the ACT Pro and JR gyros. They have been sold since I now use the integrated gyros in my Weatronics receivers, which , also, have worked to perfection on both of my AW Hawks, BobCats, PST Revision and Reaction, BVM F4 and Sabre. The Weatronic Smart 8 receiver with a single gyro applied to rudder and N/S on my little Savex L39 completely transformed this model. With its light weight and low wing loading it really bounced around in rough(ish) air. With the gyro is was SO much smoother and steadier.
For the doubters let me say that gyros create a vastly smoother model which stick skills simply cannot replicate, they simply make model jets look FAR more realistic, solid, which is why almost all pilots, if not all, at the recent JWM were using them. The PowerBox I gyro was very popular.
We discussed gyro use extensively on RCU on a thread entitled "The ABC of gyros". Perhaps worth a read.
