Default Fuel valve placement

Hi guys,
Would there be any issues with placing the fuel valve "after" the fuel pump on my Jet Central Cheetah? This is just for ease of installation. Thanks in advance..
Ron

Ron, That is the way I do it all the time. Have never had a problem.

From what I've been told...... it goes:

1) Pump
2) Electric Valve
3) Manual valve
4) Filter

You can flip-flop 2 and 3... but with the electric valve after the pump... make sure you don't reverse the flow though the valve. If you do... the solenoid valve can be pushed open with pressure.

FYI... this is on my Jet Central Falcon.

Ron, that is the way my Cheetah manual shows to do it and is how I have always done it. Having said that, I think it is important to be able to have the power plug for your ECU battery installed such that you can get it unplugged in hurry just in case or a pump runaway. I have seen this happen two times. Once was on my turbine and when it happened I was able to immediately unplug the battery and shut everything down. On the second one the owner could not got the plug and the fuel pump pressured the line to valve and blew it off. Sure the line should have stayed on and the valve -- but stuff happens. He was lucky his plane did not catch on fire, but as it was it just filled it with Kero before he got the pump de-powered.

In Oz part of our ''waiver'' process means the flyer and the jet are inspected.

As the OP mentioned for convenience I used to put the valve after the pump, the inspector (a very experienced jet flyer)
said he had seen several lines fail or blow off when the pump was pumping into a shut valve spraying kero everywhere.

I now put them before the pump. - John.
