I don’t have any pictures of the turbine in the plane, but I was concerned that it was far to close. The exhaust nozzle sits just inside the thrust tube. The engine is as far forward as possible and the thrust tube is as far back as possible. All up weight is about 43lbs. So not light, but certainly not over weight either.

Default Fouga

No matter what size of a turbine is installed above a 100 max 120 thrust the extra thrust is converted into heat ! That is due to the very small diameter exhaust exits.. 45mm inner diameter .
Philip Avonds has the same size Fouga 1/4.5 kit . Both planes were designed to match the 13.5kg (less fuel ) class WJM rule . Both are designed around a 100 size turbine .
unfortunately the manufacturer of the later fails to produce the kits to match the weight numbers thus they end up 25 to 30+% heavier . This definitely affects performance !

To my humble opinion your plane is on the margin here , and adding a grass field takeoff strip just add another nail in the coffin here .

This was a big concern to me when I installed the 140, that the exit holes from the tube are far to small for a 140. However I had to try since with a 100 I needed 3/4 throttle just to taxi in the grass. I also was very carful not to build it "heavy" and it still came out in the 40lbs range. I realize this isn't meant to be a crazy overpowered jet, but 40+lbs and a 100 is pretty weak, that's why I decided to try the 140. I thought with the big wheels and big wing span it would have been fine on the grass, but I guess not. So now the question is, what are my options aside from selling it...

This one is at an air museum in Paso Robles, CA. I like the binoculars on the canopy for the training pilot to see forward.

I’d say dump the scale looks , get on the phone with Tam about a new exhaust nozzle with at least 55 inner diameter exits , and adjust the openings on the fuselage sides to fit the larger pipe .

That’s what I was thinking was pretty much my only option. Might also sell it. If anyone here is interested let me know, it will be a good price! Saw this one at the Pima air and space museum last spring in Airizona

Default Exhaust pipe

DHC6, Sorry you had bad experience with the Fuga.
I also agree with the over power/heat explanation as Lavi rider explained.

The take off roll on asphalt runway with WOT using Kingtech 120 is pretty long about 80-100 meters till rotation speed without elevator input.

Another suggestion is to verify wheels apin freely without brakes sticking due to a dry o ring.

that was the fist thing I checked, and that was one problem. Before I fixed that issue, it wouldn’t even move with a 100. But that problem was fixed before I switched to a 140.

In case anyone is interested I am selling my Fouga. It will be listed in the buy and sell, or PM me for details.

Is RC Jet Center still in Business? Their website doesn’t seem to exist and there hasn’t been any posts in a long time on their FB page.

Speaking of the Fouga I see that Wind RC via Chief Aircraft are in the process of releasing a 3M PNP Fouga Magister. I'm certainly interested and if its done right I will probably purchase one.
