Another data point, at roughly sea level, I put an airspeed probe on the 1/6 scale and find I am cruising mostly in the 120 to 130 mph range. 150 to 160 for maneuvers and never really over that. Very scale like at these speeds. I don't imagine I'll ever need it to go 200.. but the true airspeeds other jet pilots living at higher elevations might see could well be this high.

Shoyt!
I wish they would build it for me! lol! Im getting all the extra scale stuff they offer doe at factory like the canopy and speed brakes, painted landing gear, and Im doing the parachute from Details for scale, the afterburner and lights from Unilight etc.
think that's it.
Ive had two of the Scale-Jets 1/5th F16 so im anxious about this one! Anton replicated a lot of its features on his and the videos look pretty impressive.

Scott, since you have had 2 Scale Jets F16's why are you going for the Skymaster 1/5th, I'm about to order my scale jets F16 and don't want to make a huge financial and time mistake if there is something/anything that would make the Skymaster a better Purchase, I just want the highest quality jet, and don't mind spending the time or money to get it, thanks, Steve

Hi Steve,
The Scale Jets F16 is super scale. I think the only jet to ever score a 100 on static at Top Gun. You cant go wrong with that jet. Excellent kit in every aspect. And now with motors like the 210 you will be able to produce a lighter jet. Mine had P200 in them and mine weighed 53lbs dry each. I was taking off at 62 lbs. I nearly considered buying another Scale Jets, but after this Skymaster came out at around 8k and saw the videos it looked like it has lighter wing loading, I thought I would give it a shot. I wont be competing with it, just for fun flying. After receiving, I will be able to give a better review. Anton borrowed a lot of stuff from the Scale Jets F16 and then put his own twist on some of it. Looking forward to getting mine and doing a comparison.
If you getting a jet for serious competition, then go for the Scale Jets. I will probably get another one of these days.

Scott, thanks for the reply, as the plan is to build and compete, this is what I wanted to hear. We are on the same wavelength with the current 200/210 class engines, keeping it under 44lbs dry and lighter wing loading will make for a superb flyer, thanks, Steve

Anton. I have been following this thread with a keen interest and would like to another question regarding this kit. The picture attached has a line pointing to the join on top of the intake and just below the forward fuse. This part on the full scale is pointy. I recall your other versions, in the 1/6th scale are blunt. Can you post pictures of that part on here for me to observe?
