I want to up date my cortex gyro. No were on line or in the manuals does it show what port to plug in the USB cord and if the gyro needs to be powered up. I think logically it would go into the same port as the bind plug. I have a mac book and maybe that will be a problem. I plugged it into my mac with out powering it up and it did not recognize it. Hi Dan, I have a Cortex in my Extreme Flight. You plug the USB cord into the bind port, however you still have to be receiving power from a different source.

Dan.. The software to update the firmware for the cortex gyro needs to run on a PC not a Mac ... The software version for a PC is 1.1 and the latest firmware for the gyro is V13.

The other end of the USB is connected in the bind plug position (pin1) and to you plug a battery source to the pin next to the bind plug. You have to re power while the USB is connected for the firmware to begin writing... It will guide you through it...
