30% increase in idle thrust would maybe be a pound? Not that much but could make a difference on a small slick airframe without a decent speedbreak but probably wouldnt increase approach speed by 30%

Having owned a Jetcat SX 120, an RX 140 and an RX 180 I have to say that I have had nothing but a great experience with all of them. They are easy to operate and incredibly reliable. After 100's of dollars worth of fuel through these, as long as they had fuel, none of them has ever quit. Although I have never owned or run any of the other brands of turbines, I love the JetCats.

I've used the Jetcat 140Rx on my Cougar for the last two seasons, so far no issues, 16 hrs on the ECU, no dead sticks, missed starts, it's been pretty perfect actually.

That's exactly the case with my hawk and the P80.
It's the time to go bigger

My vote would be for the Merlin. Superb engines and fantastic back up.

Heard great things about all three turbines. I, too, own a 140RX and have truly enjoyed everything about it. The engine moves my Super Bandit effortlessly and reliably.

Good luck...can't go wrong with any of these.

I also thought you were saying the K140 has a slower spool-up when advancing the throttle as compared to the M140.

Snir,

I have a K-140E in a Boomerang Torus. Another guy at my club has the same airframe with a Jetcat P-160 in his. My plane looks like its powered by a 180 compared to his as far as performance. I also had a bad bounce landing the other day and before it hit the ground after the bounce I had full power and was climbing out of a real bad situation. The KingTech performance is off the hook and i'm sure it saved many of guys *****'s like myself in many bad situations. I have 12hrs on mine and never had a flame out. I have landed with a empty tank and a half gone UAT and it was still running. I know guys that have called Barry or Dirk on weekends for tech support and they answer the phone or call back everytime. IMO there is only 1 turbine worth owning, and that is KINGTECH!!!

Ghostrider 1 out!!

Must say, disppointed in reading oli's misleading info....., shows his integrity, oh well!

But, well said Ghostrider, I also have a 140F in an XL, 35 plus hours original bearings and always with KT oil, runs just like the first day, signed up as trial with Barry, good people at KingTech - Barry, Dirk and all.

Merry Xmas,
D.

I love kingtech because of one youtube test video...not many brand dare try this test in public ;-)
My K-180 went from a Ultra Flash to a 1/4 scale T-33 only need full power for take off.

P.S thrust is more important to me because of my field.
In thrust we trust lol
