Not sure how you TP owners normally check run your engines, I usually just give them a quick ground run in the airframe before flying but thought I would do a little bench running as this this is my first TP…but having tried to work my way up to full power while plotting engine/prop rpm I struggled to get beyond around 2/3rds power due to the combination of massive prop wash and hot exhaust gases (I was struggling to see and breath).Think I need some ski goggles and just hold my breath!

It's crazy the brutal amount of power these things produce.

I'm strapping my jet cat turbo prop to an AMR Waco 33%. Should be a one of a kind. She's about 70% framed up and should see a maiden when this freakin snow melts in New England.

Here's a couple of scratch builds powered with the Wren 44TP, the Stik is the Bud Nosen 101" and made a great test bed. The other is a 136" span Fletcher top dresser weighing in at 23kg and flies remarkably well on the little 44TP.

That "little" Wren 44 TP kicks butt.. it is little but QUITE POWERFUL esp if you experiment with props!!!!

I'm running a Solo 3 blade 22" ground adjustable pitch prop so the ability to fine tune the prop pitch to aircraft weight/eng output is infinately variable....expensive prop but in my opinion well worth the investment.

I have only built one TP plane for a customer and that was the HT Modellbau PC21, it was a stunning kit and looks incredible once done, I know this is no longer being made by them but have heard another kit manufacturer has picked up the moulds, if its going to be made again this is a peach.....

That would be my first choice if it were available, I'm looking for jet like performance in a TP, if I had the time I would build my own sport TP as I think there is certainly a market there for one.

Finally got to run the engine at full power yesterday and was getting 6k static on a Beila 3 blade 24x12 which I expect will unload up to 7k in the air.

this is my project: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-j...-spt-15rx.html

The SPT15 is quite impressive.. static thrust about 60kg with 30x16 4 blade Solo prop

picture 2 is the SPT10 vs the SPT15

Around 8 years ago Air Trade made me this TR. Its been "nearly" ready for about 5 years, well finally had to finish it for a new owner. One off paint was done at the factory before they closed. Its a big airframe, but very light so SPT-5 will be ample, there are rumors of the moulds appearing again, a strengthened version for the SPT-10 would be awesome!
