New Jet Event for Western New York - S.E.M.A.C. Jet Together
Our newly formed club " S.E.M.A.C. - Screaming Eagles Model Aviators Club" at the Perry/Warsaw Airport in perry,ny is hosting it's first Jet Meet. Perry /Warsaw Airport is located about 1 hour south east of buffalo or 35 miles due south of Rochester. There is no landing fees this year . Any turbine,EDF or Ducted fan is welcome. There are nice hotels near by for travelers as well as Letchworth State park for those looking to do some site seeing. This being being our first year we decided to keep it low key. We are privileged to have an awesome runway " 3700 x 75" . So come out , bring your camper and your Jets and have a good time . No hookups If you have any questions feel free to email me at [email protected]

Warbird_1,
Please be advised that your SEMAC Jet Together conflicts with the 2014 Highland Jets event in Frankfort, NY. This is the 2nd edition of our jet rally and is AMA Sanctioned , # 14-51, and JPO Sponsored. The sanction application was submitted last August and the dates coordinated with the local airport and host club. Kindly consider revising your dates to avoid conflict and detract from both events.

Art , the Frankfort event is well over 175 miles away and my sanction has already been approved by the District 2 event coordinator and the sanction was approved by AMA. i don't think there's any problem with one over the other. Our date is set and don't believe it will interfere with the highland jet event . thank you for your concerns ,WB_1

joe , it will not replace the pine hill meet. i believe Chris is going to pick a August date . as far as hotels , i'll post a list on Sunday. I know Mt. Morris has a fairly new Country Inn and Suites . That's about 10 min away. The next closes would be in Geneseo . Geneseo has a lot of places to eat as well as several nice Hotels. Geneseo is about 20 min from the Airport but i think it offers a lot more choices . WB_1

WB_1,
The Highland Jets sanction was submitted to the AMA District II Coordinator back in AUG 2013 and approved shortly thereafter. In JAN 2014, I called AMA's Competition Dept for a sanction number and they confirmed that the sanction was approved but the paperwork would be with held until their insurance is finalized-sometime in MAR 2014. AMA did provide me with the Sanction # (14-51) to print flyers and promote the event at the Model Aircraft Forum in Syracuse and the WRAM show in NJ. Highland Jets was posted in the USA Jet Event segment of this Forum last fall-(when 2014 events were opened) also on BVM's website and in JPO's newsletter. It's really a shame that our District Contest Coordinator did not notify you that another jet event was previously sanctioned on the same date of your application. This will hurt attendance on both our events.

WB_1,
I don't have any beef with you, only with our District II Contest Coordinator in not informing you of a potential conflict with your mid-July date. I selected this date after Capitol Jets closed down in 2013 after 9 consecutive years running. As CD/Co-CD of this event I felt it was well "protected" even with the 100-mile rule for Class-C Restricted events such as jet rallys. I fully agree on our short flying season but note that I attended, and flew, at 11 northeast jet events in 2012 without a single conflict. I have no intention or desire on "cornering the market" for jet events and just wish to offer a safe and satisfying venue for jet activities in CNY. I also hope for fair weather and a great turnout for both events. Peace.
