Default Anybody got a good RAM750 pump laying around?

Looking for a good used RAM/FTE 750 fuel pump. The terminal just broke off mine...

I know they're available new, but not looking to dump that much into this age of engine.

thanks,

You can try replacing the motor yourself. Its a bit difficult getting the pump gear off the motor shaft and back on though.

That's different than the one I've got, but essentially correct. Different fittings, etc. What did that come off of?

I actually developed a pretty good method of repair and validated the pump works again, however thinking I will need a spare.

Any other manufacture pump can work. soldering on that small piece of connector could break off during flight causing a flameout. I did the same repair on the starting motor and every so often it would break off unless you remove the brush assembly and solder from there.

Good luck

Soldering to the connector without much to grab onto was my single biggest concern. So, I used a jeweler's loop, x-acto knife and number 58 drill bit to dig down into the insulator carefully, exposing about 1/16th an inch of tab and drill a hole through the conductor tab. I then flowed solder through the tab and re-soldered the wire in. When assembled, it pulled very strong. I then heat-shrinked the power cable to the can of the motor, making a strain relief loop.

Usually, I would try such a repair and still just replace, but am feeeling quite confident in this one.

1ricardo - will send you a PM.

Yup. Ya' know, you never really leave, I think.

Actually bought JR's old Discovery jet from him last summer and am re-habing it. Not it bad shape at all and very tidy installation.

Just easing back into the hobby as my kids still have priority; one going into high school and one not far away from it, so still not a lot of time. Hoping to fly at the Houston fly-in in 2 weeks.

Going to see you there David?
