More flying with the SJ today but now fitted with the new Jets Munt M200XBL turbine.
Great flying jet especially with this engine.
There was a video taken but the quality wasn't all that great and wouldn't put anyone through watching it, bless my cameraman. ....He tried

Hello,
in this thred soemone tested the wings with 2x 25 Kg salt.... ok.. what does the fuselage is on weight?? 5 KG? then it is ok...
See how we test the wingload in Germany... fuselage 21 Kg... wingload 210 Kg........ and on the elevator 2x20 Kg... i think that tells more it is built stabile...
so now we talk about you can fly this plane.... this test on the elevator... they remove one side and you have now the sandbags only on one side... same we did to the tailfin from the side with also 20 Kg.... then you get the ok to fly... Best Regards from Germany... OK this is only necesary when the plane is filled up and the total weight is over 25 Kg... below this nobody... but the builder will prove this and the wingload.... We do... and test all planes from us with wingloads (weight x 10) and overpower until all is done... we build the T2 with 2 Turbines 180+ with each 20Kg on thrust... and then we give the customer the best setup...
asking the man wich puts 2x25 Kg on the wings (and not on the fuselage mounted) why he does not test 7g and 3 g ... he says he feels uncomfortable put so much weight on the wings... let me ask you some:
are you feel comfortable fly this jet???
Sorry for my bad english... but I am very interested in what happens to the planes from my competitors.... not tested... not well designed... no structure... no customer care... and they still sell... that is the amazing part for me to see..... so it is no matter what a factory does produce or copy... someone will buy.... and fly.... sorry... for my true hard words... we test what we fly.... and we built racers on the start back in 1999... an not a single plane came apart... not one... since then.

@Jetpilot,
ok... you get me wrong... sorry for that....
I am an manufacturer, I do the construction and the build for my planes myselve. I have to test before I sell something... when we put an 10 g Wingload on the plane we are not look for an dramatic noice followed by a smash on the ground... we look it is stabile...also when we overpower the plane... we do testflights on an very big field without any croud.... not to see an dramatic explosion.... like I sayd.... we never had any fail or appart coming plane since we started in 1999.... and we have 14 different planes now...
When we finished testing... then we can tell the people wich engine is to use... and I am shure when a plane like the T2 holds 2 Engines with each 20 Kg on thrust.... then it will be ok with an single 180 or 2 times 90 thrust.... it flies very well with them.... so there is no need to put an 160 in a revenge sport jet... but for test... we do... ok... then it flys over 500 Km/h (312 Mph) but we do test... then when all is checked the engine size for this plane is 70-100.... and this is perfekt.
And yes we do more than one testflight... our L29 has 200+ flights with an 190 and is recomendet for an 100-140..

OK... semms like it is only comments allowed wich is pro FEJ....
Sorry.. for my statement abou the later post with the 25 Kg wingload wich should show the staility of the FEJ wings.
I will not pots again on an FEJ thread....

Hi,
That's cool that you do that kind of testing on your models before release. That's how it should be. There are manufacturers out there who don't even attempt to fully assemble a test bird (let alone structure test it) before they ship them out. I assembled several ARF's wherein it was painfully obvious that they hadn't taken the time to see if the parts they put in the box would work with each other. I guess you have to give them credit for pioneering this new business model where the customer pays to be the beta tester and design fixer.

Hi Phil
I read your post on the FEJ sports model, I have one ready to go in the Red Bull Colour scheme.
Could you please confirm the CG you are at now. Mine weighed in dry at 19.75kg dry, how does this compare with yours?
any further info you can give me before I have my maiden with it, would be greatly appreciated?
congrats on your successful maiden.
thanks
John

No secrets at all Ravill, if it must be known i sent John details of where i post my builds now if he was interested.
As for the Sports Jet...I still own it and cannot recall how many flights on it now. Still flying very well.... It is temporarily out of action as i had my CAT Header tank develop a leak and cause a flame out while low and heading downwind along the runway. It landed about a kilometer down the runway and damaged a wing panel against the wire fence at the airport perimeter. Even though damage isnt too bad I decided to order a new set of wings which are on the way, so hoping to get it back in the air over xmas break. I wasnt overly happy with the replacement cost of the wings but given its flying qualities and my loss of appetite to repair the wing, the cost was justified.

I once owned a FeiBao Velox kit which had a terrible name.. Apparently they did all sorts of terrible things!!
Eventually I decide to stop reading the negative feedback, and concentrated on the positive reports of this particular model.. I decided to build mine (after it sat in the box for two years) and set it up according to the successful reviews..
And wow.. What an awesome flying sports jet!! I think everybody focuses on the negative feedback these days!! And not enough on the positives!!
I'm sure not all FEJ Jets are bad.. All brands have their share of problems!!
