Any news on the Mibo A-6 intruder?
I asked this a couple years back, I would really really like one of these some day. Its one of those jets that does it for me and nobody produces it, not sure why but if Mibo or someone can chime in let me know. I saw the Mibo prototype on the net and their website but nothing new in awhile.

Very simple: the development cost for this kit is 150 000 USD.
I have recently invested over 30 000 USD in developing and stocking new products like the ASSI, CAN LCD, SB-PSENS, quadraxial carbon plates, carbon/ resin clips, USC plugs and more, with very few to no order at all.
Given the level of support of the market for our new products, there is absolutely zero chance that I invest this kind of money in a project like this.

um okay but you already have a one that was flown, is the money not already invested? Im not sure how to take your answer but you make it sound like Mibo is not going to make any other models.
If thats the case why not take it off your website http://www.mibojets.com/index.php?op...id=112&lang=en

That is a shame to hear Oli, maybe its just slow going at first because it is "new" to the market? I really hoped to see the A6 and F-111 from Mibo, as they are both very unique models and I would think there would be enough people across the world to justify bringing them to market.

TIming in business is everything. The world is in an economic recession. Not just the US. 5-6 years ago, I would have spent $15k+ for a kit like this in a heartbeat, not counting everything else that would have to be spent to complete it. Nowadays, there is zero chance that I would invest that kind of money in a jet. Somehow, I don't think I'm the only one who's financial priorities have changed.
Oli is bringing really awesome products to a market, which, IMO, is unfortunately in a downtrend, as more people are taking a closer look at the levels of their discretionary income. Unless one has reeeeaaaally deep pockets, I can't see the financial sense in completing development of a high ticket item such as this, for the few kits that would be sold in the current economic environment.

Economic decisions have to be made before production $$ are spent on any model. If one does not believe current market conditions are favorable for the sales of an item, it makes no sense to bring it to market(ie spend the money). That's not to say that it will never be produced, just not now. Absolutely no reason to take it off the web site as a future development.

If molds and patterns exist for that A-6 and Sierra can make the gear then whats the harm in offering a basic limited production kit?
The lower price point will attract buyers and you will bring a new interesting model to market. If your concern is a shaky market then now is the time to develop this product for the upturn instead of stopping all development.

I understand the cost in developments and the lack of spending due to current economy issues, I face losing my job after 15 years in the military due to down sizing in military budgets with no retirement. I asked a question since their website has info listed that would now appear to be incorrect, their entire product line is as suggested above is very limited in sales. I have seen 2 mibos here in the states at events in the southeast out of hundreds. Like I said they have a prototype so they have invested in it, i just wanted to know so I can stop holding my breath with Mibo and move on...

The prototype is just that: a prototype. There are no production molds made yet.
Hiring people to produce a mold without stopping the current production, designing all the accessories including gear and scale parts molds ( over 30 molds for a project like this ) is what costs so much money.
If one day we see a strong support on our products and innovations, we might rethink our investment strategy. However, the production would probably be limited to about 20 kits. So you can imagine the price tag on such a kit...

Hi friends:
I know the really job that you need for put in flight a prototype, it's the same thing a prototype that the first model from the molds. I'm sure the first model has some problems that in the follow models is necessary repair, but a shop like Mibo not must problem for make it, sure.
I am finish my first model of Mirage III and after a lot of problems the fuselage of plane is almost ready.
the landing gear is another question, you can make the maiden with another LG that not is the serial set, but them will be necessary work again in the same thing, for this reason is good to have the perfect LG in the first model. But this is only my opinion.
The Intruder is a incredible plane and would be great can see kitted.
Best regards from Spain.

I'm sure the results will be nothing but good, the materials used in these jets is top class and the new Vixen and following scale F84 and A6 will both benefit from all the testing and research Xtreme are doing.

I have high hopes for another company planning to develop the A-6. I am already saving for it!!! Mibo would have do a nice job but this route will probably be more affordable for me anyway.

Hopefully someday I will finish mine but I doubt I will ever sell any kits. Maybe I will sell completed models if they are flight proven. Slow going though, life and other projects are always getting in the way.

Oh no I dont know anything other than they plan to do one. Me and another person were talking about trying to get something started to show so support for this particular project is all. From what was posted the size will be around 40-50 thrust range.

I spoke with Wagner at Jets Over Kentucky. He stated that the Xtreme ARF A-6 will possibly go into production following the release of the Vixen and the F-84. I believe the timetable for the release of the A-6 is around the later part of 2015. If I remember correctly, the fuse of this model will be approximately 110 inches long. Hopefully Wagner will post to this thread and provide accurate info about the Xtreme ARF A-6 (according to my wife, my memory can't be trusted).
