Thanks for posting. I'm pretty sure I'm going with the K-310 as well, but may dial it back a bit & keep the stock pipe. I've heard this is a pretty heavy bird, so don't think I'm adding any scale details, or lights on mine (except afterburner of course). Going to try & keep mine light as possible.

It like a perfect much mines the FB Jets F-100 and it's heavy lay up of a plane with no turbine it's 23kg and with two drop tanks it's 24kg. I need to get my finger out and finish it off.

Happy Holidays to all and Happy New Year.

We just finish the firts F100 2G that goes to Switzerland the 2G has some improvements but the major one is on the weight, we have changed the layup and diferent way to do the formers this contribute to reduce the weight right now the model painted and assembled with the LG and accessories is 15 Kg (33Lbs).

Bellow some pictures.

So what will the new Vixens weigh? Will they be lighter?

Yes, we are working on the Vixen to make it light too, and now we offer pylons and external tanks.
Next batch we will have the right weight after paint and assembled.

How much weight did you save with the new layup? I think I'm misunderstanding something with the posted weights in this thread. I'm calculating 8KG/17lbs if it used to be 23kg & now is 15.
thanks, Jay

23 Kg is the dry weight we could save 13%

Does the 33 lbs include servos and armament?

Thx in advance

33 lbs with just gear is still a great weight for this model

I don't know where you guys find the numbers, but I explain, 15Kg (33 Lb) is the jet painted with landing gear and hardware that goes with it, don't make mistake as a dry weight, Now we aim to get it dry without bombs and other accessries that pilots might install at 20 KG that is 44 Lbs.

Does anyone have some hints on how to get the slats to work properly? I'm at my wits end!

I just watched the video above. I must have to make longer pushrods as mine won't protrude beyond the front of the wing. I've been trying to hook everything up inside the servo well- and it hasn't been working!.

Geebeeman,

I've built & flown 2 of these jets.
You have to completely assemble the servo to the hatch and then the horn & pushrod to the servo.
Then drop the assembled unit into the wing (below the surface of the wing) with the servo arm pushed fully forward...this will give you the reach needed to hook up the pushrod to the slat.
Set up your end points for the appropriate control throw & repeat the procedure for the other slat servo.

Also, the inner servo (closest the fuselage) should be mounted with the splines closest to the slat...outer servo is just the opposite.
To complete the slats for both wings, you'll need quite a bit of patience and no less than 5 hours of your day.

One last dumb question regarding the slats. Am I looking for 25 mm of slat travel at both the root and the tip? The instructions say a proportional amount at the tip, so I wasn't sure if there is a little less Out there. How were yours set up?

Thanks!

Mine is 25mm at the wing root & 22mm at the wing tip on landing...12mm at the root & 10mm at the tip on takeoff.
