The Phoenix has risen!

Last June, at the Jets Over the Heartland event, I lost my venerable Phoenix due to dumb thumbs during landing. The airframe was toast, but the equipment survived. We had a bit of fun with the carcass, finishing off with putting it in a burn barrel and dousing it with half a gallon of heli fuel. ;-)
I've just finished building a new Phoenix. Purchased through Peter at Altecare and dropped shipped from France, it arrived in about 10 business days. I have to say that the build quality from the new factory is miles better than the old one. Even the anti-rotation pins for the booms and wings are factory installed. The retract mounts already have blind nuts installed and are a perfect fit for the Behotec gear. The nose gear mounting rails are reinforced with vertical members. The paint quality is excellent. Seams are still there, but clean and neat. Canopy pin and latch already installed. Everything fit as it should.
All in all, I'm very pleased with the new version of the Phoenix.
Oh, and I've added a little somethin' somethin' to this one. ;-)
Maiden will be at Georgia Jets at the end of the month.

Jim did you just build a new plane and use old fuel line tubing? I can send you some new tubing so I doesn't look like you picked through Sandford and Sons scrap bin
!! What's the address of Browns Tavern? Scott said he is willing to donate some brass tubing and a new clunk as well!
