I am just going to turn down the max rpm to 38 lbs.......go big and you have room to grow into a bigger aircraft.

I don't think your plane will last very long with that much power. I'd it down to about 32lbs.

So that big of a jet can only handle a 140? One of my buddies has an older one with a p200 in it and no problem. I guess it all goes back to how you fly them....

Yes, that is what I was told by BVM. I heard a couple of the Jet Legend G2 F-16s blew up when using a larger engine. You're trading weight savings for strength.

I am running a 180 in Barrys F16 and its fine. But we fly it with ordinance and that makes a huge difference. Also only really jam the stick for takeoffs and verticals. So 38 lbs is fine in the new F16 but you need to be smart with it. If your going with a thunderbirds scheme with no ordnance then yes 34 pounds max for sure.

The beauty of this F16 is how light it is. Stuffing a large engine defeats its whole purpose... And yes, I can bet that a fully loaded one needs the extra power punch

To be fair. There is not that much of a weight gain when putting a 210 into something like the F16 over a 140 lets say. I am sure ( Not crunching the numbers ) but I think these new generation of turbines are no heavier than some of the older turbines which produced sub 20 Lbs of thrust. I think its all down to the mechanical and airframe sympathy and understanding of the pilot. I have seen people fold a jet in half with just 18 Lbs of thrust.. where as other pilots fly the same plane with 36 lbs.

Ali you hit on the head. The airframe and pilot are more inportant that the size of the turbine..Or engine in a glow or gaser. This has always been a problem with some people trying to break the speed of sound instead breaking the airplane and there wallet.

im going to keep the power on tap....i fly my ultra flash with a cheetah at 1/2-3/4 throttle most of the time.....so i dont see it being an issue.....I really wanted to be able to go to a bigger jet after this one. Prob a skymaster 1/5th f16 or a ultra lightning.....the god thing is i can detune the turbine...But I wouldn't be deterred from tuning down to 32lbs....

Ali the great is correct....the new rhino 200 weighs less than the original 170...puts out 9 more lbs of thrust and only .01kg more at idle and only burns .18Lpm more.....it was kinda a easy decision for me......just dont yank on the sticks at full throttle and you will be fine...

Got a great deal on a used 180g. Would love to have the 210 but I would rather have the 1K I saved
