Default thread sealant for airline fitting

What is recommended for sealing the threaded airline fitting/nipples for our retracts/valves?. Was thinking VersaChem Permaseal Aviation Type III since I have some laying around. It's basically a gasket sealant ... With small fitting like these it seems regular teflon tape is not very practical. Other option is Loctite thread lockers?

The literature I got with a couple of air devices said to use nothing for thread sealant. Apparently they are more concerned about something getting loose inside the system.

I used nothing and my air systems hold air for weeks w/o any loss. I do wire wrap the tubing-to-fitting connection though.

Blue Loctite is the way to go. It is removable but seals the threads...

Loctite 542 is a thread sealant recommended for fine threads on hydraulic and pneumatic connectors. Sounds like the right stuff to use. And this is a thread sealant, thread locker is something different and not really ideal, but I would think still better than epoxy or thin ca.

I've got some nice thick Loctite 246(medium blue, oil resistant). I'll give that a go. Thanks all.
