Default RC Jet "Re-Modeling" Thread

Hi all,
Not sure if this video has been shared here yet, and if it has my apologies, but I figured I would share it. I enjoy watching people transform these dumpster jets into beauties. If you know of any other strip/ repaints or rebuild threads please post!!

Default my re-model

This is my JHH A-7 that I have "re-modeled" . I acquired it in the hideous blue-camo scheme, as scene in the first pic. I have strip it, sanded it, repainted, re-done the gear doors, new tires, painted the struts and tires, dry transfers, and changed out most of the electronics and added a jet central super bee for power. Still need to add on wing pylons, drop tanks, and cockpit.. but she is getting close.

A friend built this BVM F-86 many years ago as an ICDF.

Crashed it, stripped it, started to repair it & convert it to Wren 54 power then
run out of enthusiasm (yep, we have all done that with a project!).

It sat in on the shelf for years gathering dust & spiders.

I bought it & finally got it sorted, painted & flying again with P-60.
The original owner is delighted to see it in the air again. - John.

Holy sheetz.....what an incredible feat of 'magic'........that's true old school by far.

Sure is nice to see that folks still exist that can and will spend the time and effort to make such a phenomenal aircraft come to life

Glad you guys liked my video at the start of this thread. I was just told about its posting. Some nice words there about my work, so thanks guys. I do appreciate that!!!!!!!.

Just so you know, I am currently doing a full scratchbuilt MIG 1.44 for a very good client of mine. See my videos on my Youtube Channel "MrDavieM"

FWIW: I am also taking orders for any more custom builds for the winter and into next year. For other past modelwork I have done, check out my website....

Thanks again for your input guys!!!!!

Thanks Bill, couldn't let a good model go to waste, it belongs in the air, not on the shelf. - John.

Dav.ie

What are you thoughts about those entries that 'appear' to be backed by impressive sums of money from 'outside' sources (i.e. foreign governments)?

Should there be a split format for 'pro-build' and 'amateur' to ensure that money/power doesn't buy the contest???

Default Resurrection of F15

This is my Global Jet F15, It had a hard life before it got to me.
She was crashed several times, missing gear doors all bulkheads broken, and nose broken off.
I rebuilt and painted it over the winter of 2014, I found my first few flights too short only 4-5 min so I added a functional centre tank that I made from old f18 ordinance, can stay up for over 10 min now! But she is heavy on takeoff!
I am happy with the way it looks and flies, I had the chance to let Ali fly it, it was so nice to let someone else take the sticks so I could enjoy the show, anyways it was well worth the effort!
Richard
