Default Cool exhaust :-)

Saw this on facebook
Looks cool....

Left New nozzle Frank Turbine for FT 180 Raptor and old right. At least 500g of thrust more and less noise.

The 787 too, I think it was the first. Just waiting for decibel readings on the ground and in flight now. BTW on the 787 that distinctive scalloped shape is also on the nacelle and probably helps reduce shear between the ambient air and the higher velocity fan air thus quieter or more efficient operation. The turbine exhaust is also getting this treatment. In our jets with internally mounted engines the amount of ambient air is very small and mostly just cooling the thrust tube. It is moving very slowly. We need an aeronautical engineer to chime in. And we will all need Bobcats to show 'em off!

Could be fun to see some test results.....if it works on fullsize, it must work on our engines too
