Default UK buyers.. and UK Customs issues?

Guys

Anyone else had an issue with UK customs recently?.. I bought some bits from Dreamworks (some of Wojteks digital displays), shipped though USPS. Tracking number says UK Customs (London.. assuming Heathrow) have had it now for 6 days and no sign of the package being released? Everything else I've had sent (Details For Scale etc) cleared with no issues.

I cant find the number of anyone to call to chase it up, any ideas?

Thanks
Scott

Customs clearance can be very quick but 6 days isn't uncommon either. I would give it a couple of weeks before getting concerned.

They will send you a posted clearance cost, £8.00-13.50 clearance fee, plus VAT and possibly duty. Welcome to my world!
USPS is passed to Parcel Force, call your local depot with the US tracking number (even though its changed in the UK) they may be able to save a few days...yes I know you would think that is 2015 they could send you an email and you pay, but then they couldn't charge you so much!

I have stopped ordering stuff from outside the EU purely because customs is now another cash cow for governments and the charges have become excessive especially for low value packages.

Yeah it gets expensive but if you can't get what you want elsewhere your options are limited!

I called Parcelforce this morning.. absolutely useless on the phone but guess what.. half an hour later the package is miraculously "cleared by customs" ?????

Gawd its a good thing I'm not cynical..
