Turbine internal pressure question
Im interested in knowing approximately how much internal pressure the compressor section of the engine operates under. So how many PSI is the outer can holding?
Have you guys measured this and would you care to share your findings?
I have a few engines and Im considering a pet project, any info would be great.
Thanks
P70, P120, Titan
Or, what is the Pressure Ratio of the regular Titan engine?

Hi Ad,
Thats a neat set up for study. I have an Oly too but thats reserved for a special jet.
I see from older notes on AMT turbines the pressure ratios are from 2.8 - 3.2 but Im not assuming the JC Titan is the same. Before I tap a hole in the can and put a gauge on it Id like to see if theres reliable info.
I still have your old P-120 BTW. Ran it on the stand a while back, its great.

Folks used to Tee off the propane line going to the engine, after the solenoid, to take chamber pressure and use it to pressurize a smoke system. Said to be around 30 psi (P80/120??). I actually still have a modified Power Max aluminum bottle for such a system. It's a direct line into the combustion chamber so maybe you can measure it that way. Has to be a propane start engine.
