Default JL Yak 130 gear problem

Hi guys,

A friend has a Yak 130 and he is having some problems on the landing gear. On the ground works fine but flying it doesnt. Gear stops half way and the doors go through stucking everything. He changed all air lines from 2mm to 3mm and same problem happened again. Is he taking a lot of time to command gear up and then a lot of airflow and gear doesnt work? Can someone help me?

Thanks in advance

Gabriel

I had the same problem on my FEJ F-16. The best thing you can do is increase the size of your air tank. I doubled the size of mine. Make sure the airlines are plumbed such that the retracts get air first and add a restrictor to slow down the doors. Now mine works fine in the air.

Changing the air line from 2mm to 3mm never will result the problem , i avoid that problem in my large hawk 1/3 scale separating the system , nose gear have 2 big tank and main 2 big tank also and now never have a problem with those large gears.

Also bump up the pressure to at least 120lbs or more if necessary.

Hi,

Mine works well at 110psi and the original 2mm line. Make sure you allow the struts to fully extend before retracting the gear as they will catch the doors on the way up. Other than that look at replacing the O rings in the main cylinders. Mine began to bypass after a while, causing the leg to be very slow on retraction. A new O ring(s) fixed the problem...

Cheers

Jeff

My Yak 130 gear works perfect every flight, first of all do not use bigger air lines ,the smaller lines carry more pressure to the cylinders? Heavy main gear! I went with Tom cooks High flow Valves for the gear & Doors and large tanks. The gear will cycle complete down to 45psi.... charge to 110psi. Any questions please feel free to call me......Randy Clark 954-643-6319

Hi guys

I have maiden mine this weekend.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kq8nsQfOX-I

The gear only works in the air at more than 100PSI and becaus eof airflow, I need to add more time between cycle of gear/doors. The main gear catch a door and retract the door to the fuselage interior.

Other than that, in the last flight, the front gear collapsed because Jetlegend did not put loctite and did not properly tighten the fron gear to the king pin..... no short cuts with these guys. You have to check and double check everythinng

The carbon front gear plate for steering also broke, so I will make one from Dural. Other thing is to add 2 more cilinders to the big rear door. It is way too heavy to be closed and the pressure built inside the fuse opens it during flight

In the end I am a happy man with some homework ;-)

Jeff - I will send you an email for the cilinders. Do you have these in stock?

Best regards

Nuno
