Default JL YAK130 TWIN maiden

Hi guys

Hope you enjoy.

The maiden went very well. The only problem was the front main gear that colapsed in the 3th flight with a very smooth landing. The king pin was not tightened in the factory and I put my faith in their job.....
The plane is so smooth that I already miss a bit of adrenaline ;-)

Nicely shot video, Smoothly flown, congratulations on your first flights and wish you many more.
You certainly got better weather than us guys in the UK this weekend, cold and gusty
I look forward to you sharing your findings on CG, movements and flap-to-elevator settings as you fine tune it over these first flights.

Hi all

Thanks for the kind words.

My set-up is

CG - where signaled by the manufacturer

Throws
Elevator 50mm high rate 35mm low rate
Ailerons 30mm high rate 20mm low rate
Rudder 20mm measured at top
Flaps high rate - all that is allowed by the flap rail (110mm) Low rate 50mm (not used)

The plane is very smooth - only 1 click in aileron and 4 clicks in elevator. A bit of flap adjusting was needed because when lowered it was slightly turning right. There is a need for a flap/elevator mix. Arround 3mm needed.

Next step is to make a throtle /elevator mix, because at full throtle it tend to go up slightly. Maybe I can put some more down thrust in the turbines, but the first seems easier

I found this bird to be tooooooooo slow for me. I was a bit bored....Not for the F adrenaline junkies

Best regards

Nuno

Hi Nuno,

Did you put the weight in the nose?

Best regards

Bonjour Dorien

I have arround 600gr in the nose, but it is nose heavy, so I will remove some.

Dependeing on the set-up, you will need to add more or less weight. I have 4x 5000mAh batteries, an opneing canopy and a pilot. These will add some weight up front

Is it yours a twin?

Regards

Nuno

Single turbine with a Kingtech K210.
I put 700g to have the good CG, but the train before is in abutment.

Hi
Very smooth maiden, congrats! Do You know where you have the CG now? I have heard it is way noseheavy with factory setting. I was told i need to move the CG 7-10 cm back. This Means CG will be on the main wing tube.
Best regards

Hi

I started where the manufacturer signs it, but it is way too nose heavy. I am moving it backwards by arround 10mm. Maybe someone with more flights can update

Best regards

Ok, Mark Hinton from UK told me to move it 70 to 100 mm backwords. He has flown three different J L YAK 130, and all three needed to put CG back, but all three needed different CG???

Thanks

Is it along the paint line? Is there any other info that I should be aware of during this build?

Hi Azhar

Yes. It is along the paint line. There are 2 build threads in rcu if you look arround. I am moving backwards the CG. Had some troble with leaking door cilinders, but now it is smooth

I found at full throtle the plane as tendency to climb. I guess that as to do with the high speed ventury effect under the stab. I am planning to make a small mix at full thrtle with down elevator.

What do you think? Here is a link

thanks Jetnuno,

I am hoping to get mine ready by July hopefully. I will watch that tendency to climb at full throttle.

Where is your cg now.

I would say at arround 1cm behind where signaled by the manufacturer. Y will change the batteries for lighter ones and come back after measuring CG
