This airframe is not commercially available, the German Jet Team builds it just for themselves. This is their new demo/show plane after the J-10 is now officially available from Carf.

There was a jet that crashed late in the day Friday. I was up at the hangar when it happened so I don't know the cause.

Sharp looking sailplane...

I didn't realize how much water there was behind the treeline.

It when down across from the far right end of the runway about 200 feet in the tree line behind the pond that is hidden by the trees. It was a Viper Jet. The guy was coming down doing a couple of rolls when he went to pull up the wing came off. It burned really bad. I felt really bad for him.

One of the guys from Cheif Aircraft took my fire extinguisher and gotto the fire first. He said it was really hot.

Hey Mr. Jeff,

Great flying last week. Had a really great time flying with guys last week. Unfortunately, that was my Viper. Wing snapped off on down line when a friend of mine was flying it. Total loss....Thanks to those who help put out the fire. Had full tanks when it went down.

The SU-27's are the Elster teams new mount. There is a full article in the last JetPower magazine...even how Ralle from Tailor made decals painted the who airframe for a total weight increase of about 400g

They are full composite Honeycomb moulding.

Jon,

That was EDF Jim flying it. It is a Flyeagle and I am not sure of the size turbine. He flew it at least 10+ times every day.

He flew it nice and scale. It seemed like about every time he started it he had a hot start and hit the extinguisher. I liked watching it fly. Looking forward to the soloshot 3. Hope it will track a little better.
