Default video with soloshot2

at joe nall on saturday working with soloshot2. this was about 30ft back from the flight line so i could not get all the vertical. 100ft back would work better but then would miss TO and landing.

Thanks for posting. I've been really close to pulling the trigger on one of these. So with a jet, doesn't look like it can pan fast enough to keep up? Is there a different setting to increase this? Did you try it with slower planes? Thanks for sharing

small and big fast and slow it does great in the horizontal. it takes a second or 2 to adjust for vertical just due to the gps accuracy for altitude. these were the best settings for flowing aircraft( autozoom wide, big air) and if you do a lot of maneuvers it has a hard time keeping up. but if you want to do level race track pattern for some nice video it will do great.

Pan seemed fine, it was the tilt that couldn't keep up, and maybe the zoom as well.

Hi Jim, Did you buy the whole package with their camera? Seems like the way to go. Does it auto zoom? I'm probably gonna order one today, I've looked at their site and all the videos, but wanted to see a modelers perspective first.

Thanks

yes camera controller with the zoom is a must for models have tried without and you get too far away fast. also got a camera with an external mic cause the motors in the tracker/base make noise.

The Soloshot is a great idea, I would love to get one, but I will wait until it gets a little quicker on the pan and tilt functions.. Maybe the Soloshot 3.

I bought a solo shot about 6 months ago and have not used it yet. I got the whole package deal, mainly to film takeoff and landings, people like to see landings. That F-18 was doing some very aggressive flying, great to be there but not very interesting to watch in a video. So my point is, it will work great for the aspects of an RC video people are interested in seeing, takeoffs, high speed passes and landings. Now if it will quit raining and winds get under 20 I may take solo shot to the field.

My Soloshot3 was a disappointment (Did not work as advertised) so I returned it within 10 days of receiving it.
The bad part is, the Co. received the unit back almost 2 Months ago and still NO REFUND. I had to get the Credit Card involved and looks like a 3 month process in getting a refund, if at all!! BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
This Co. is NOT on the UP & UP!!!

Did you let the company know you were putting in a dispute with your cc company? That is usually enough to get them off their butts to credit your card back.
