Congratulations Greg.
Great choice of Model. Having watched a team of three dispaly at Jetpower last weekend the F86, was the star of the show for me.

Thanks John!!!

I have been patiently waiting for it to arrive. Thanks to my good friend Ali Machinchy he has been generous enough to allow me to have some stick time on his.
This way once i get mine going i should be all good on the set-up.

Let the fun Begin!!

First thing on Wednesday morning @ 6:00 Am 10/14/2015 I started to work on the wings. So far i have been able to get both flaps and ailerons hinged and the Hysol glue is drying.
Once this is dry i can start to get the control horns figured out and glue those in.

They did say October but I'm figuring if it took 9 months for you to get yours..... I ordered in mid March. I'd love for it to come this month so I can have it ready for FiF.

going to contact Vogelsang today to see what the wait time is currently. I've got a three week road trip next month with a lot of OT and expense $$ coming to me when I get back.

Wow Greg, I remember it was last year this time we talked and I complained about six month lead time so I didn't order it. It really took this long!

I will ill be watching the build.

Thanks Greg, You did the right thing. I had a Hawk disaster this year so I had to replace that but now I am too behind. Hopefully the wait time will improve. Is the silver base in a way that you will have to paint silver over it again or can be just clear coated?

First wing is about half done.

I've been able to get the wing tip formation light installed, the aileron has been hinged and the servo and linkage has been done, and lastly i have been able to hinge the flap and get the servo and it's linkage done and operating.

Next will be the doors and the gear install with the airlines hooked up and the gear bolted in.

Great looking jet Greg, can't wait to see it in person one of these days.

Cleaned up some off topic posts, lets keep it about the jet please.

Behzad,

The silver is good enough to use as your base color if that is what you are looking to do. I have a good friend up in Canada that did this and just applied his other base colors over top of the silver.

In my case though i will be doing a totally different color scheme that is based off of the Canadian Golden Hawks so i will be repainting the whole plane. For this i will just use a 3M scuff pad and dull the silver back and spray my other colors over that.

Then i will clear the whole plane.

Greg,

Will you be making the leading edge slats operational or fixed?

They will just be fixed to the wing Mike!!

Today i got started on the fuse doing the nose gear doors and the frame work to hold the nose gear in place. I also trial fit the motor mount and Kingtech K-210 in place to check the fit.
