Default Power Systems with Gyros

Ok guys Im almost done building my Global Jet Legend L-39 Albatros 1/5 , I'm using HS 7955 on all controls surfaces. I was planning on just using an AR 9020 with X Pulse as I'm using 14 channels. Im using 3 MPI switches, with 3 2000 6.6 Life packs just for the Receiver (2 batters into the AR9020 and the last in the X Pulse Box)

This is the set up I use in all m other big jets (Velox XL, and Carf EuroSport) But this jet seem way bigger.

I just got a new Cortex Gyro for the L39, but Im wondering if I need a power safe receiver or power box for this size of jet. But with the Cortex Gyro running the elevator, Ali, and rudder, there really not much load left for the receiver it self to power.

So I was thinking one batter goes to AR9020, one to the X-Pulse, one into the Cortex. As these still all feed together just incase one switch or life falls the whole system should still have plenty of power.

How dose this set up sound?

Mike,

On my Hunter, I used a Jeti CentralBox 400 and 2 batteries with a Cortex Gyro. As the CB400 provides battery management and servo fault isolation I made a new harness that provides power direct from the CB400 to the servos, and only the signal wire goes through the gyro. You have to have one channel with power that goes to the gyro to power it, all the rest go direct from the CB400 to the servo.

Not totally necessary, but it made me feel better.

Powerbox Royal SRS with integrated i-Gyro. Can use 2 batt, two variants of voltage at same time, integrated 3-axis gyro with gps, all type of telemetry and so and so. Or smaller model Mercury SRS with integrated i-Gyro. The same, but 15 outputs.

The Cortex will be fine with these servos. You can always add an additional power input via the programming port if you are nervous.

The Cortex has 2 inputs that bring power over it. I'm comfortable with 2, JR style power connections for up to 7, high torque digital servos such as the Hitec 7955 and since the Cortex uses 5 servos max, 2 power inputs sounds fine to me.
