Havasu Jets II
This event has been cancelled due to weather!
Below is information about the event that WAS going to take place, but has been cancelled.
Havasu Jets II
Event December 2-4, 2016, warm up on Nov. 30-Dec. 1st.
Desert Hawks RC Field
SARA Park
Lake Havasu City, AZ
The Desert Hawks RC Club is happy to announce the 2nd annual Havasu Jets event. This AMA sanctioned event is open to any type and size of jet - turbine, electric, or glow fuel.. Turbine waivers are required for flying turbine powered aircraft. This is an AMA charter field, and all AMA rules are enforced.
The first weekend in December is typically in the mid-70's for temperature, with clear skies and mild wind. We just finished widening our 850' x 60' runway to give us 10' side run-offs and gradual slopes. 280' x 50' pilot staging area! We also have a huge pit area and plenty of parking for hundreds of cars. We have water and restrooms. We had a few thousand spectators last year - and we expect even more this year!
Dry camping on-site is permitted and encouraged! There is plenty of space for motor homes and RV trailers! Bring your families so they can visit the attractions in beautiful Lake Havasu City while you are out flying. The flying field is located just minutes away from major hotels and restaurants! The warm-up days are for anyone who wants to come in early and play! Official event is Fri-Sun.
Event cost: $50 per pilot for all 5 days.
Prizes for Best Pilot, Best of Show, and Most Flights.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again!
You can register online, or at the event:

There has been a huge interest in our event, but only a handful of people have actually pre-registered. I am trying to get an accurate head count for event sponsors and the pilot dinner. If you plan on intending, can you guys at least post here so I can get a more accurate idea. Thanks!

Knocked the nose gear out of my Boomer on the 5th flight today, and cracked the nose so needs repaired. Won't be making it this year but a definite next for sure. Have a great time and tell Neal Skip said Hi and sorry I couldn't be there. Get a lot of pictures. Especially of Digitals T-One!

NOTICE- Havasu Jets has been cancelled due to weather!
Unfortunately, we have had to cancel the Havasu Jets event. We are suppose to have really high winds this weekend, starting late Thursday and carrying over to Sunday evening. Winds up to 50MPH by Friday afteroon and 40MPH on Saturday afternoon. Our temps are also really low - in the 50's instead of the 70's like normal. Overcast as well.. the worst combination for R/C flying of any kind.
I am sorry I had to do this. ;(
If you have pre-registered, you will be refunded.
Please get the word out to everyone. I would hate for people to show up to not even be able to fly due to the weather.
I am looking at having a jet event in the spring.
Thanks!
