That is NOT an RC flyover. Those are all RVs with pilots IN them.

That's so funny Danno! My Dad sent me this too and asked the EXACT same question when I told them they were RV's...

I think they were RV-8's (or most of them were)... https://www.vansaircraft.com/public/rv8.htm

article stated it was R.C models from an R/C club from Kansas City:

This video is remarkable. How they worked it out with Homeland Security, FAA and all the other government protectors is remarkable. These are radio-controlled MODEL airplanes. No small feat! The budget cuts have eliminated military flyovers at large events. But, there's a group of guys in Kansas City who do formation-flying on their own who decided to pick up the slack. They invited a couple of other groups to join them for with 48 guys using their homemade RC airplanes. If they had more time, they probably would have an even larger group as people kept joining; they had a 49th added near the event. One additional feature of the flyover was the use of pink smoke for cancer awareness. [/TD]

Van's Aircraft RV's, not RC models...

http://www.eaa.org/en/eaa/eaa-news-a...-flight-record

Apparently our favorite Government Agency didn't like it either:

As stated in the first paragraph of you article our favorite Government Agency is investigating similar flights SINCE that record event was sanctioned, no that event itself.

If it was Rv's instead.....then I apologize about such a boring post. Could care less about RV's. Looked like a cool R/C stunt.

I did not get it from the internet, got it from a colleague, who ironically enough....has an RV4.

If you don't care about RV's, you should. Don't know what you are missing! I've been flying RC since age 8 in the early 80's but I think the RV series of airplanes are the cat's meow. Fly many, and fly often Preferably the RV-4 and RV-8. If your colleague has an RV4 and he sent that to you he is pimping you for sure. Anyone with an RV of any series knows about that flyover.

They have really tightened up the TFRs on the stadiums and have given special instructions to law enforcement on dealing with drones. They are even talking about some kind of geofencing special events from drones some how.

I'll bet it got lost on the reporter when he was told that they are KIT or HOME BUILT airplanes and ASSUMED that meant RC. Cuz everyone knows you can not build a "real" airplane at home........
