Default Grumania Jets P-59 Airacomet Review

Hello - Looking for a back issue of RC Jets International Magazine June/July 2006. It has 1 of the 3 review articles on the Grumania P-59. Certainly willing to purchase the complete magazine or a Xerox copy of the article. Will pay shipping costs also. I have two of the three articles coming by snail mail. Very interested in building this airframe. Many thanks if you can help.

We built and reviewed this kit together with my friend Patrick back at that time. Great flying plane with the proper level of power.
It was a bit of a handful with a Jetcat P-60 but proved to fly very nicely on a VT-80.

Oli - Would you happen to have a copy of your review? Will make sure I have ample power as you suggest. Many thanks. Chic

I have an edf one and it flies very well using a Schubeleur DS-77HST fan and 14S 8000mah.

Neil - seems like a great flier even with the EDF. I understand the guy at Grumania is currently overwhelmed with orders for the P-59. Chic

Edgardo - Who Ever and Where Ever You Are, I can not thank you enough for going out of your way to satisfy my request. The photos are very readable. The article certainly answers my questions. If you ever come to the Washington, D.C. area, a steak dinner is on me. Chic White

Here is the video of the Flite Metal P-59 we tested in Dubai with a Jetcat P-60.
The guy speaking in French in the background is me...

Olnico - I know you timed that landing with the emptying of your fuel tank. Smile. A great video, was the P-60 enough or would you have wanted a bit more engine? The model maker is saying he is far behind schedule due to a large rush of people wanting the kit. I'll wait my turn. Many thanks for the video heads up. I like the RAF scheme. Chic

My edf version has greater power than a P-60, I'd personlly use something like the vt80 or even a p80.

The engine was no powerful enough.
Patrick had to stay at 100% thrust all the time with the P-60.
With the VT-80, the plane was much more comfy and could do nice aerobatics.

Neil - a very interesting build thread. Thanks, you have inspired my interest even more. All throughout the read, I was thinking about the turbine version and the things that would possibly need changing to support the turbine. Chic
