Default Natural aluminum finish

I have come across some .010 aluminum sheet, dead soft, with adhesive back. This can be used as hatches and panels and burnished into concave surfaces, fillets and such. They are 12" x 22". I am included a copy of the email from All-Foils. The min order is 100 sheets, I will not use that much in 10 lifetimes, and am wondering if some would like to go in on an order.

.010" x 12" x 22"
1000 Series-0 Aluminum
Coated one side w/ TA-1A
Adhesive and 76# poly coated
Release liner

100 sheets (minimum) @ $7.41/ sheet
250 sheets @ $3.81/ sheet
500 sheets @ $2.58/ sheet

Shipping tolerance: +/- 10%
Lead Time: 10-15 business days or before if possible, ARO (After Receipt of Order)
FOB: Strongsville, OH 44149

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Best regards,

Thanks Jo, I have used that site before, the only thing being it is thin. Which is great for most of the plane as it is much lighter.
The stuff I posted for is .010 thick, that way you are able to stretch it more before it rips.

I think what you want is "dead soft" aluminum foil tape with a liner backing (peel and stick) - at least 2 mil. I think I got Compac 805, 3 mil with the high performance acrylic adhesive. VERY aggressive and forms around complex curves very nicely since it's dead soft. There's no surface treatment so you are literally getting very thin aluminum with a very nice adhesive. Got 4 inch, 6 inch and 12 inch by 100 foot rolls for about $30 to $40 each, if I recall correctly. Very, very good stuff and I can't tell the difference between it and the "other guy". burnishes down, makes good rivets, etc. Got 2 rolls left after 5 years. Works for heat shielding as well as it turns out (the adhesive is good to well over something like 200 degrees-guessing). Use it for all kinds of stuff.

Hey chuck, I went to your link but I was unable to navigate to various widths and lengths. Do I need to request a quote? What size do you have remaining?
cheers

Thanks for the tip Chuck. Good stuff, but in order to get the looks of raised panels, it does need to be thicker. That is why the .010 works well. This is the kind of results that you get.

Wow ! Nice work. The other, major brand is just under 2 mil and probably uses a different technique to get the same raised panel effect is my guess because I've seen some awesome results with it (Raborn's jets for example).

I think I got mine from Compac industries in Hackettstown, NJ, 123 Bilby rd. Call them but it looks like they may not sell it anymore? Oh, and I was wrong on the temperature rating of the adhesive on the 804; it's actually over 300. Now we're talking heat shield.

ive got a full roll of 12 inch and maybe 2/3 roll of 6 inch and can't find my roll of 4 inch.

Thanks Chuck, I am sure there are many manufactures of this stuff. I used to use 3M #425, it is thicker, heavy, and then found some lighter stuff. Still use the 3M on hard to burnish spots though. Here"s another pic.

Hi Scott, that is great. I am hoping to get a few more that want some so that it does not cost an arm and a leg. I was heading for Dallas tomorrow, but got cancelled and am going to Atlanta instead. How close are you to that? Please feel free to PM me and I will give you my contact info. Thanks.
