Default Boeing T-X

Anyone know of a kit coming of this airplane? Looks like a fun one to try.

I agree, very cool looking jet. I would rather see this one than another sport jet.

I understand your meaning but do model builders or kit makers bother to get licensing from the full scale designer/manufacturer? Are all those F-16s and F-86s licensed?

Sincerely doubt it. If Lockheed would hit all the F-16 makers they'd be able to lower the price of the F-35 by a couple of millions a piece. They could even sue the Chinese government for copyright infringement, like they did to Yellow Aircraft in the early 2000's, hence had to change the name of the F-16 Falcon to "Mako".

So a kit maker could copy one, miss out the long (dangerous and vulnerable) nose spike, and call it a sport jet.
Keep the LE slats though if poss.
For a 160 to 200 please.
After looking at the video, it seems that the wing TE controls surfaces do not extend to the tips, and perform the functions of flap and aileron. They are down for TO & land and deflected for the roll (with slats open).

I'd really like to see a T-100 which is essentially a Yak 130/Aermacchi M-346. Leonardo and Raytheon went separate ways and Leonardo is going to try and compete with it on their own. Not sure how current administration would feel having a Yak in the USAF, no matter how distant they are apart

Has no chance. Lockheed is moving F-16 production line to Greenville, SC where the US version T-50 would be assembled. At this time it is Lockheed's bid to lose.

Was under the impression that once an airframe is military and therefore paid for by tax payers it was open season in regards to reproduction?

A lot of companies i think are just using the bully technique when it comes to models.

I stand to be corrected.

Regards,

I was honestly thinking about making a thread about the Boeing TX saying it will be a great future model after reading the same article. I’m sure manufacturers will do plenty of them at some point. Just need to wait for some color schemes to appear but I would imagine it will be years before it goes into service?

Dont think LM will let this one go so quickly. BA has a modern tendency to under bid their military contracts, and then subsidize through commercial programs. They must be learning from Airbus/EADS.
