A lot of problems with some jets on takeoff is the plane incidence it happens a lot on F16 and F18 if the plane have a soft nose spring or incorrect takeoff incidence do plane lower nose they make a hard jump takeoff with the correct plane incidence the plane will have a nice soft takeoff and shorter

I'm almost done with my Cougar. I'm using a 2008 VT-90 (jet central Rabbit, propane start). Old threads say this turbine does 7oz min on avg flight.

I was thinking the fuel tank is too small to give a comfortable timed flight (6-8mins with a 1-2 mins go around). I've seen folks on here use saddle tanks.....any closeups on how you mounted them?

Here is how I did it.
2 x Sullivan ducted-fan saddle tanks. 16 oz each :-))

Hope this helps.

Help on the F9 Cougar.

1. Is this where I measure cg from?
2. Is 175mm good for maiden or is there a better number?
3. I'm using a JC Rabbit VT90 (propane start). My Xicoy and finger lift method are showing I need 3lbs in the nose at 175mm. Empty fuel cell, full header, which sits over nose gear. My Batts are 2x 3600 and 1 5000 lipo all in the nose.

Am I in left field here?
