New Powerbox radio...

My Feedback: (11)
I handled it at Jet Power too and quite liked it, I will keep an eye on its development and give it serious consideration. However I won't buy it while it has the suede leather cover - it feels really good to hold but surely that will soon get dirty absorbing fuel, oil, sunblock and sweat, and then it will look bad and feel unpleasant?

- The material is Alcantara. This is a 100% composite and easily cleaned.
- The two sections that are covered are clip-on-clip-off, so replacement or even for cleaning is very easy.
The main advantage of this covering is that the transmitter has a very secure feel and will not slip from your grip, even when you have sweaty palms during that competition sequence.

I’ve been flying mine over a month now, purposely not cleaned any part of it to see how the finish goes. It’s been handled by dozens of people and even today at a jet meeting where we had Kero on our hands, it does not get messy. If one of the people who blast glow engine exhaust over it, or are just plain messy with fuels...does not matter what the finish is!
I’ve seen 3 month old Txs that look like they have been buried in a garden...

I have only been flying EDF and props so far as some of the jet related programming was not installed into my Core Tx. That’s about to change, so my CARF Joker is ready to go Core. Martin Pickering was flying Core at Jet Power this year and the Elster 3-D boys too.

I was waiting for the latest software so I could use flight modes and now the weather is not playing ball. We have 40 mph winds this weekend again. There are quite a few of the test guys flying the Core in turbine models, as with any system there are ways of programming to get gyros etc working without FM and other options not activated in the original two software releases.
I’ll report when I have had the chance, we know the radio link is solid, the programming options will expand through the first few months after release and there are many plans in place for the future, the Linux processor allows so much flexibility. The telemetry system is going to be one of the fastest, almost real time update speed. The Bluetooth also allows communication with external devices. It’s mind blowing what is possible.
