It has enough power to have fun, the pipe is a little large, so it takes slightly longer to get on the step when you go full power, but it does reasonable size loops. 80-85N is probably optional power.

I am pleased to say Iv had 4 fantastic flights on my Joker now :-) power is ok for taking off on our grass strip with the Wren 70. It definitely needs full power and a nice take off roll, But once it’s up and flying it’s quite happy and quick enough, but I will change it probably for a 80/100. I miss the take off performance like I have with the 100 powered Xcalibur. But as dave has said it’s a perfect follow on after the Xcalibur. The control throws are spot on too. Be interesting to see what the flight time would be with a 100 as I’m coming down at about 5 mins with 1/5 1/6 of a tank. I love this model :-)

As always depends on throttle use. Our std models with P-100Rx versions have a timer set at 6 1/2 minutes and hopper tank has no air on landing.
I extended my fuel tank, so I fly 7.45, but have a larger balance shift as the tank can't go any further back!

thanks for the reply Dave, if I could get 6 mins with a 100 i’d be quite happy with that. The 70 does fly it beautifully but I’m not used to having to use full power on take off and climb out unlike my Xcalibur so I think il sell the 70 and find a nice 100.

Paul was flying his Swiss JetCat P-60 example off our local grass site today. Needed 100m (300') take off in light winds, but landed in 50m!

Finally maiden her yesterday. With the K85, she took off from grassed runway in less than 50 meters without problem. AUW was 9.06kg, full fuel (7.45kg dry, UAT full).
Very nice to fly, super slow she can get. Nose on the heavy side but safe. Floated and glided well without much throttle. No high speed flying was done yet on the 2 flights.
Factory's recommended aileron throws were very sensitive (to me). Green wing tips were a little harder to see against the blue sky.
Got into a little trouble with the flap-elevator mix, initial down elevator was 5% down on full flaps but she pitched up violently when flaps were deployed. Ended up with 18% down elevators (6mm down) on full flaps. Once dialed in in the air, she slowed down significantly with the flaps.
The 8mm crow seemed perfect as the approach was shorten and she dropped predictably when aligned to the runway.

Hi Dave, nose bobbed real high up with the flaps down at 80mm (factory setting). In the video I tried to land twice without flaps but she came in too hot. The last one was good, flaps had plenty of authority!

80mm is about right, you always need flaps to land-especially with your high approach over buildings etc.
Whether you run just flap or Flap and CROW it's important that any slowing/delay is matched on the elevator going down and ailerons raising. Most
radios will allow you to match speeds on each condition.
Your final landing was great, nice and calm at touchdown.

Great weekend flying my Joker, 10 flights. Paul B was having great fun with his P-60 powered Swiss scheme too.

Steve H performed the maiden flight of his Joker at Elvington today, he fitted a 100 size turbine, and the IGyro 3, it flew like it was on rails, completely drama free.

Great day at my local grass strip flying my Joker, also did the test flights on Phil's red Joker, JR XG11, Powerbox iGyro 3e, Macgregor 2810 servos. JetCat P-100Rx fuelled by an MAP Bubble Trap.
