Is there any one able to show some picture of how and where of the battery instal?
@ Dave, is there an other then the Stock Carf (lighter) pipe out there?
Started giving the woodwork on the inside some sealing/coating.
K85 is on it's way, i go for the "Light weight" version is suppose ....
Cheers,
Ed

My K-85G had numerous issues out of the box.
The starter motor was bad and not spinning the turbine up to full RPMs, which caused a beautiful hot start that melted the pipe before I could even see it since the back of the engine is not visible in the Joker.
On the Kingtech forums almost everyone suggests modifications to parameters on the ECU to get good diesel starts.
Had I bench tested it first, I would have it dialed in before the first start in the plane.

Ed, sorry been busy trying to get various projects done in time for collection/ weekend. Maybe the stock CARF pipe is a thinner grade, as I typed before something in my mind said it was not so heavy on the Joker, though I’m still surprised there is not a greater difference. Some of those pictures are of my friends P-60 powered Inspiration (still flying) You can’t have ducting and such a low price/weight

Cheers Dave,
I hear yah
Would it not be possible for Carf to start building the ducting again and add. on the option/spare parts list?
So one can decide for them selves to add. or not to add. and spend the money
Cheers,
Ed

No, turbine position and wood work is all new, would need saddle tanks and completely new ducts would need moulding, it's not what this aeroplane is all about, it was kept super low cost for a reason and speed/energy managed for pilots coming from the Xcalibur. Otherwise buy an UF.

Why is speed the number that’s important? Most people are really poor at judging speed, so it’s just a number. What vertical will it have and will it pull big loops is much more relevant. Will it have enough power to fly a nice schedule with an 85? Yes, presuming you are not based somewhere really high, it will have great performance.

All the bit's and pieces are slowly entering the "man Cave"
Did the plumbing yesterday on the tank and UAT.
Who off you guy's is also going or using all the stock supplied stuff?
I never used the stock stuff, and alway's used after market parts, but on this one i want to keep it all as it came out of the box.
Any suggestions on this??
The hopper supplied by Carf, someone out there using it? And does it work fine or is it an absolute no go?
Cheers,
Ed

Well all the goodie's are in the Cave, so lets step on it!!
About the "Buy a Flash" statement.....
Arrrgggg, this is an understatement in my Opinion, Quote... Small Sport jets are trendy...!
Took this directly off Carfs website.
And looking at it and mentioned several times before, Yes they are!!!
If you see the most amount of turbine's sold at this time are the smaller ones, simply because smaller jets are in all perspective much easier and a Hell of lot cheaper to operate the the bigger brothers.
Saying this the statement "Buy a Flash" should have been, Carf scratch your head and put a mini Flash on the market!!
Instead off blowing the dust off some old moulds.......
That would be a blast .....
Never the less, looking forward to the build and flying the Joker. Easy peasy jet, can't wait
Just my 2 cent's

I would buy an "Ultra Flash" before CARF discontinues it like the Spark. I'm sure the replacement for the Ultra Flash will be very similar to the Joker and on the "simple", "thinner" all installed (Retracts and servos) version... I don't think I will be able to put a 200 size engine in the UF 'replacement' and get to 300++ mph...
Buy an Ultra Flash and store it...

To each his own I guess. I don’t really care about vertical and loops. Don’t think I have ever had a jet that didn’t have good vertical or had trouble looping. Speed and precision are more important to me. I have a JTM XXX roughly the same size as the Joker radared at 180 and I know I want the Joker to be at least as fast. I have had an UF which is much faster and don’t need that kind of speed out of the Joker, but I know 150 will be boring for me.
So if I have to put a 100 in it to get the performance I want then I will, but if I don’t have to, id rather use a lighter 85. Why are there no videos of one flying with an 85. I just bought a Joker and Ray Labonte is trying to track down a video.
