Wait a minute!! What wrong with you guys, you have not blamed the victim for leaving personal property in a locked car. The temptation he created by having a radio box in his locked car probably set the otherwise law-abiding youths into a life of crime causing them to immediately knock the windows out of three other cars. JUST KIDDING
I live right beside Memphis. It runs neck and neck with Detroit for murder capital USA. A fellow RC enthusiast just over in AR had an entire trailer of large scale planes stolen. The thieves made the mistake of finding a flyer and offering him a "steal" of a deal. A sting was set up and most of the equipment was recovered.
In the four years I lived in Memphis itself I gathered the what I call Memphis trilogy, I had an attempted car theft cantankerous to start Suburban stalled in the street but $1,500 damage to get a $75 radio probably $5-10 on the street, my apartment burglarized and I was robbed at gun point.
Anyway, I think the next time I handle my QX18 I am going to finally set a screen lock on it. Which only helps after the fact.
When I was a kid, theft in my home was a capital offense.
Sorry for your trouble but at least I may now lock my radio.
