As far as know in the 15+ years of using them no one has mentioned that here, I imagine that it's easier to pay $85 for a set than to make some youraelf.

I'd be curious about the material also. I have a set of Glennis wheels and brakes for a B-17, one brake pad is missing.

In the full scale world we get brake lining material to glue and rivet to disk brake plates and drum brakes and some come bonded and throw away or exchange backing plate. The following web site has a good number of dimension drawings to pick and choose from for max # RC pads from one liner.

I have no affiliation with them.
Or enter "aircraft brake liner" on a search.
I have machined liners, only down side is that the material is intentionally abrasive like. Modern liners do not have asbestos or lead. But I would definitely wear a respirator when doing any cutting or sanding.
Ultra lite aircraft brakes may be a good source since not certified and possibly thinner.
"Your mileage may vary."
Please post any success on replacement.
