Funny game this though, was not that long ago when most felt 'ALL' new jets were looking the same, the classic sports jet look, those releasing jets were bashed up about not creating new and unique designs, now seems this has passed on and with this and the Bolt we are back to liking the classic sports jet design - most bizarre!

I don't see elite catering to edf needs, ever. With all their advancements, they still don't have their customer base, or performance, like turbines do. I have all but stopped flying edf since transitioning to turbines.
And as much as I'm not a fan of huge jets(price, cumbersome to transport, look slow), I can speak from experience that 199mph and 60ish span is also not very feasible. I have a Rebel HOT with an 85n turbine. Not quite 199mph, but easily 185ish, and it disappears rather quickly. I'm 45 and don't need glasses and it's pretty tiny out there. My older turbine friends couldn't see it.

For those who have a field to fly turbines that's fine, for those who don't have a turbine field and want a quality jet with performance not that distant from turbines at this size ... once properly engineered ... there's EDFs.

Consistent 200-ish mph EDF sport jets at the aforementioned size with consistency and flight time was reached nearly a decade ago on production jet models, not just one off customs or conversions ... that performance wasn't unheard of with nitro fans.

There are way more EDFs models flown worldwide than turbine.

Just a suggestion, a larger customer base at the cost of relative few mods is usually a good thing.

Problem is that the rise of the "small" turbines has been largely driven by the foam stuff. There isn't anyway Elite could manufacture something in that size range for a comparable price tag. Check out any meet with EDF's and/or Turbines and for the small stuff, it's virtually ALL Motion RC foam stuff. You rarely see a SebArt Avanti S mini size which are built in the conventional fashion and the cost a chunk more than the Motion stuff.

The interest is understandable but there isn't any money in such an idea. I even have a Motion RC Avanti and it's a quite a work of art, but its ALL foam. If you were to look at my Havoc SS from Elite and the way it's built, most EDF guys cannot afford that kind of construction and care, it's got nothing to do with the field you're flying off of. The electric landing gear in that model costs more than anything Motion sells from what I've seen.

A removable nose wheel for transporting on that size model? Sheesh..... I do not know of any of the bigger stuff that has that, just retract the gear.....

A Rogue the same size as the Havoc GTS would be nice but I still wont be able to afford one. the closest I have come is the e-flite Havoc (LOL).

Exactly. I was on the fence between a super small turbine or another midsize for my next project. Was hard to swallow shelling out $2k for a 9.5lb thrust turbine, only to surround it with $250 worth of foam that was never meant to surround it. Ended up spending the same amount on a 30lb thrust turbine and ordered a UF Evo.

He said nose, not nose wheel, but that said if you're already talking 67"-72" length there's very few who would ever bother removing the nose for transport anyway. Not worth the added weight.
