Cortex Pro x Jetti assist
Hi guys,
I´m building an sport jet and I´m in doubt about what gyro to use, cortex pro or jeti assist.
What do you think guys?
Thanks

Cortex Pro for sure.... it works better with Jeti than Jeti assist. You can adjust gyro gain and heading of Cortex Pro from the “Gyro menu” of Jeti transmitter unlike Jeti Assist.

You cant beat a Cortex Pro. I use several all have outstanding results. I also tried a 7assist in a PA F16. It too works quite well. saves $ as I use one device. You can set it up with adjustable in flight gains on all axis. As any gyro it took time to get it perfected but I am very pleased with it. The latest update corrected many shortfalls in its programing.

For sure, at the beginning I couldn’t turn it ON because it was with CB’s so that’s when I pulled them out....now at 7 CP there’s now turning back too much $ into them...
Like all systems, maturity will benefit them greatly, I still have my assist into 3D and misc’s planes and they work fine....

I personally have Assists in 4 different Aircraft (2 Aerobatics planes and 2 Jets) and have setup another 4 for friends and find they work perfectly and are very flexible in how they can be setup. Haven't tried one in something like a canard yet but with the controls they provide for which channels are stabilized for each axis it would seem to be able to deal with that as well. Not trying to say anything bad about the Cortex, for me I prefer "one and done" type of solutions as opposed to separate receivers, separate gyro, etc. and it doesn't bother me that the entire Assist solution cost less than the Cortex Pro alone.

I'm not much of a gyro guy. I just use a little dampening stabilization for windy days. In my jets I have one each of Jeti, Cortex Pro, iGyro 3 and Aura 8. They all meet my needs. The Jeti was the easiest to set up and is the most flexible in the radio.

Cortex has not improved in years. Which isn't bad because it works so well. But there are known issues with interfacing w/ Jeti that could be fixed. There are ports C &D which remain unused. An update would be nice.
Jeti Assist has had many updates. I read its not good with the high frequency noise from turbines, but I never tested it.
I recently had a REX12A go nutty after I added a Jeti battery sensor to the system. It went back for warranty.

I use Cortex Pro on kero burning toys and assist on EDF. In my opinion they are both equally configurable, although assist is a little more difficult. They both work well, however, several people have reported having some issues with Jeti and noise resonance from some turbine engines at some RPM. The CortexPro's case appears to provide better isolation out of the box. I haven't experienced this myself but for that reason, I use CortexPro with turbine.
It should be noted that the CortexPro can be configure with a central box and 2 receivers. I don't think that's possible with assist unless one attaches a 2nd rx to the assist receiver, but that only offer protection if the transmission to that rx fails, not if the rx fails entirely.

I never used cortex. So can't comment on cortex. However, I been using Jeti assist on three of my jets (F-18 1/7, F15 1/9, F16 1/6) with auto gain function using speed reading from pitot tube. They all fly very smooth without too many flight modes to setup. For turbine use, the assist need to be isolated from high frequency noise. I wrap mine with sound absorbing sheet.

I jeti rex 7 assist with a cbox 220 that comes with a nice switch will run you $420USD.
A rex 3 with a cortex pro is $415USD. If you needed more PWM out you could go with a rex 12 and you'd be at $469USD.
I use the rex12 with a cortex non pro and that works well ($413USD). Since jeti can have any channel assigned to the PWM outputs I essentially have 17 PWM out channels 5 of which are stabilized.
Kind of a wash but at least the assists are in stock.
The cbox combo has some added benefits too over the other combos. Of course you could add it to all of them but you are high $$
