Default Battery retention system without cutting slots-my solution

Let me know what you guys think. I came up with this and my friend made them for me.... didn't want to cut slots in the carbon because it was pretty thin. Haven't flown yet but it seems very sturdy. This is on my Ultra Flash EVO, FYI.

i like it. should work even on light ply, you can put blind nuts under it and screw it in place.

I've not seen that one, I will check it out just for reference. Thank you.

Kind of off topic, but are you sure that's carbon and not black fiberglass? Seems counter-intuitive to have that much carbon right where your 2.4ghz antennas are going to be.

It looks heavy, this is why guys end up with over weight aeroplanes! Yes I know the bits are grams, but they add up, I would never use those clasped Velcro straps-heavy, most of my Jets don’t even have straps, just HD genuine 50mm Velcro. In your case I’d just stick it to the plate after cleaning with alcohol, on uneven glass where the contact points are decreased I add a little adhesive on the contact area.
I have had people comment about batteries coming loose, but it’s never happened in 12 years. I like snap rolls!! HD Velcro is amazing!

those Secraft mounts weight a tonne! Have a customer who insists on using them and he always has overweight aeroplanes, it’s a culture of complication and bling!

the clasp was a placeholder. I will use just a loop of 1.5” Velcro Yes in aluminum they weight very little. I guess it’s a holdover from my 3-D days because I always use a strap. I may try without someday

Fiberglass? Makes sense because it does fray like glass or carbon. Works for me.

Yes, fibreglass cloth applied it with black dye resin. CARF have used it for years.

I hope so! Would be a shame to have such nice plates that I would never use due to its affect on 2.4ghz.
