The flares are not allowed. AMA rules state "Devices that propel hazardous projectiles are prohibited. Dropping any object creating a hazard to persons or property are prohibited."

Oh ok, I didn't see it but I didn't sit and watch the whole video.
Yea, that's a no-no. Not illegal as such, just not covered under insurance.

It's set at whatever works for your installation. Start small, work your way up.

As others said, the main gain setting must be seen in context. If you have a GPS installed as well, you can usually use about 10% higher gains than without. Also if you select the "soft" dampening setting (instead of the default "normal" or "hard") your gains can also be higher.

I have reduced the individual gain for the elevator by 10% (set to 90) and my master gain is set to 40% (with gps and default speed compensation setting). In landing configuration or full flap fly-bys I have dialed the master gain up to 50%. I use the "soft" dampening. Hope that helps

Agree with @BarracudaHockey. However, it's safe to start at 20% on A or B. It'll be important to make sure your Rudder gyro is NOT active in Attitude mode (whichever one you set to be that meaning A or B). It's best to put the input on a rotary dial so that you can adjust in flight and sneak up on what you want...what feels good. The plane really doesn't need a gyro but it is fun to play with. You'll probably wind up with 25-35% at the end but it will be based on what you want. Remember that EXPO will change with gyro on/off so you may want to set your gyro then set EXPO. Once you find the amount of gyro you like, grab those numbers and transfer it to a 3-position switch (assuming you set A and B) so that you have A, B, and, most importantly, off for the gyro.

Enjoy!
Scott

Hi Dave

Yes you are correct. The reason for my question is that one friend is using Cortex and has about 30% gain. another friend just did the maiden and with ISat, he was getting wing rock at 8% and had to reduce to 6%. so i was wondering that if this is correct or it is a set-up issue.

Thank you.

Yea that doesn't sound right, I have an isat in just about everything and the only thing I couldn't get much past 10 percent gain on was a 60inch extra NG from Extreme Flight with HUGE elevators.

Can't help with afford, but these things can be stored in a medium space and transported in a medium vehicle.... The pic with another brand plane shows the back halves of the fuse from the ceiling.
