Ok, sound good!
At what location did you tapped the spar, close to the fuse, or at the end?
Did you reinforced the wing at the location where the bolt goes thru the wing?

Default Cockpit attachment

Hi,

After getting the thrust tube installed, and the turbine as well, the next item to install is the fuel tank.
Prior this, I think that the attachment of the cockpit would be a better idea, as once the fuel tank rails are in place,
acces to the location to install a blind nut for the canopy fixation will be come inaccessible.

How did the majority of the JEEMO guys attached their canopy?

Cherio,

Eric

Wood Block in the front and bolt in the rear, two steel pins mid section for location pins.

I was finally able to get the Jeemo maidened by the master, Ali Machinchy, at the Bill Beach Classic (Rosewood Indiana)
Ali put the Jeemo through its paces and it was a pleasure to watch.

The Rosewood club has the perfect field setup for the Jeemo, paved runway for the dolly, and a beautiful manicure grass area for landing.

After a couple of flights is was clear that the take off dolly needed a bit of tweaking, it was pulling to the left and the AOA didn't seem right.
So I drilled the front wheel holes a 1/2' lower (Raising the LE of the wing), and added some CF plate material to stiffen the plywood.
After that the dolly tracked straight and the glider lifted off with little effort.

My first flight was a blast! I am really going to enjoy this model.

I just wanted to post an update since the maiden of my Jeemo,
Prior to Ali performing the maiden flight I had the C.G. set to the factory recommended position of 120 mm (4.72") back from the LE using the balance fixture that I made.
When I asked Ali to go over the setup, he picked it up and just held it by hand using his finger as the pivot point, he said to add about 1/3 more weight to the nose.
When he flew it he said the C.G. was prefect for his preference.
I finally had a chance to weigh the total lead ballast in the nose and it is 800 grams (1.76 lbs).
I hung it on my C.G. fixture and it balances at 110 mm (4.33") back from the leading edge.

I did get a chance to fly again today, I needed to be at the Titusville airport this morning so I took the Jeemo along, it was a great fall day for flying, just a tad bit windy though.
The Dolly worked great off of the grass.

I have been asked to repost the C.G. Fixture PDF as the one posted early in this thread is not displaying any longer... thank you RCU.

I took the opportunity to update the fixture to show the 110 mm CG point
I tried to upload the PDF and I get a file upload error, once again thank you RCU...
Also AutoCAD.dwg drawings are not allowed, so if you need the file send me a PM with your e-mail.
Zip files are allowed so I tried to upload, that also failed...

Ali sure gets around

Is that a wheel mounted?
Do you know what wheel assembly was used?

I don’t experience this habits you mentioned. I have shifted the CG a little more forward then recommended though. It climbed a little bit inverted. Now not anymore. It is very neutral both normal flight and inverted flight with all power settings. I must say 90% of the flight is full power anyway 😂

I agree with Didier, I did not experience these issues and my CG is not what was recommended by the factory.(See post 85)

Hi Guys

Just wondering, when you are balancing at 110mm, is this with no fuel or a full tank?

Thanks

Hi,

I would say for sure with UAT full.
As the main tank is quite centralized over the CG this doesn’t matter really, but personally, I
would fill it up 50%.

When I balanced mine it was a full UAT and about 25% fuel in the tank

Grts,

Hi, if you leave fuel in the tank, it would need to be in the volume of "landing Fuel". so 20% to 25% seems to be good. More fuel could give you trouble if you fly a little longer. a little nose heavy is better than a little tail heavy.

Glider-it state a CofG of 120mm with the tank empty. If you're using 110mm with 25% fuel, then what's your CofG with an empty tank...120mm?
Mine flies great at 120mm with an empty tank.

Sounds abought right! I had to add 800 grams

It depends what you have in the nose of the Jeemo.
I have heavier mounting material, a battery box, and two 3700mah batteries. So, I'm using just over 500g of lead, balance is per Glider_it, 120mm with no fuel. Flies really well. For me 110mm with no fuel would be to nose heavy.
